Do we need a modern day Johnny Appleseed?
Or more correctly, a Johnny Hempseed. People planting seeds in various places that can eventually be harvested as one of our next energy sources.

2. You ever read
"The Botany of Desire" by Michael Pollan?

Highly recommended for info on ol' Johnny Appleseed. Pollan calls him the "American Dionysus."

3. Yes
If we blanketed Texas (as an example) with hemp seed, in just a year we could produce enough fiber for paper, clothing and construction while simultaneously employing thousands.

4. in a year we could cause everyone to lose their homes
Take a look at forfeiture law and get back to me.

If you must spread seed, be sure it is on property belonging to a wingnut. People lose their houses this way. And they don't get it back.

The conservation movement is a breeding ground of communists
and other subversives. We intend to clean them out,
even if it means rounding up every birdwatcher in the country.

6. I am well aware of the forfeiture law
But I never suggested dropping seeds on other's property. There are plenty of publicly owned lands that could be the seed bed.

Of course, we do need to change the ridiculous laws that create more criminals than they eliminate.
