NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Agents with the FBI's Violent Crimes Task Force arrested a Christian radio station personality as part of a child pornography investigation.

Bureau agents began investigating Chris Ruleman, 40, a midday host for WFFI, 94FM The Fish, earlier this week after receiving information that he possessed child pornography.

He remained in the Nashville jail pending an appearance before a U.S. magistrate judge on Friday.

The Fish general manager Mike Miller said Ruleman will not be on air while the investigation is ongoing.

2. Ruleman unperson.
In Orwellian fashion, many Christian websites have already wiped out any reference to him. Right-wing evangelicals like to point the finger and condemn, but when it's one of their own, they immediately throw them into the "perpetrator protection program".

3. He'll be back on the radio next week....................
after begging for forgiveness and blaming everything on the devil and Democrats. And of course a big A-M-E-N will resound throughout Nashville and the poor brother will once again be held close to the bosom of his followers, but not TOO close.
Just another one of the sheep that has strayed from the flock. That analogy of the sheep and the flock was the one that turned me off on religion when I was very young. I didn't want to be a sheep and sure as hell didn't want an invisible shepherd watching every move I made.
Aren't shepherds supposed to gather the sheep if they stray from the flock? It seems our "good shepherd" just lets them wander off and leaves them to their own devices. Odd, that.
Anyway, this poor wretch will probably receive a light sentence after throwing himself at the mercy of the court (I'll bet there a 10 commandments statue in THAT court room) and god.
Just another hypocrite.

4. Actually, no.
I worked in this field for nearly five years during my fundie phase. His face will never be seen again in Christian media. You can commit a lot of sins in the evangelical fold, and after the faithful rake you over the coals, you can see the light and make a stunning comeback (think Sandy Patti's divorce, Amy Grant's divorce/remarriage, Mike Warnke's pretending to be a Satanist, Bob Larson's embezzlement/sexual trysts).

Pedophilia is another matter altogether. He is now an unperson in the Christian community.

5. I don't believe that for a minute. What about all those
priests playing hanky-panky with the altar boys? Aren't they considered Christian? Nope, I'll bet there is a nice underground network of pedophiles in the fundie movement just as in the priesthood. Just that the fundies aren't as well organized and they have to hunt them down, one at a time.

6. You're failing to make the distinction between ...
... the Vatican and the Bible Belt. There's a huge difference.

Anyhow, looks like this guy is bigger than drive-time radio. He's done voice-overs for tons of major advertisers, and he's even narrated audiobooks for bigtime Christian authors.

Seriously! Check out that ill-fitting green shirt. It makes him look like he's got hunched shoulders.
