This case may be the biggest push toward Theocracy |
|
Who decides the fate of Man? God or Man? Or, Tom Delay representing God's interest, or, that godless, sinful, apelike, disobeying renegade sorry excuse for a "made in his image" upright Judas?
Fundies want this Country under their direction, and they want it right fucking now!

of it that way. Crap. I have tried to say out of it having been on the side of the health care provider having to stop the care and as a family member having to make the decision. I was able to stay out because I thought my dialog would be colored by those experiences but now, this is different. Good point.

the world upside down, where white is black and black is white, and it is also hooked up to the abortion issue--if a woman's body can be kept alive while she is virtually without a brain, and the removal of her feeding tube can be considered murder ie, starving her to death, then a zygote, embryo that is aborted can also be considered alive and a sentient human being even though it has not developed a brain.

6. I am so sick of religious premises |

"the soul has left the body" "her living for this long proves she has a purpose" "let her die in dignity and peace" (she is unaware)
The fact is, she is not brain dead, she is severely brain damaged in persistant vegetative state, whereby only a few lower brain functions remain that keep her vitals going.
After 15 years, she has not improved and her legal guardian, who has the right to make medical decisions for his severely disabled wife, has the right to end medical treatments, including a feeding tube.
She is not brain dead but she is severely disabled (according to the legal and dictionary definitions). According to 16 courts and 9 different judges, she has no chance of recovery, based on expert testimony.
We don't need to construe the facts or resort to religiuos premises to show that the State's interference here is intrusive and violates our civil liberties.
