How to preserve our services for the needy: Cut defense spending.
Why do we need to spend $419 Billion a year on defense, when the next county with the highest military budget only spends $34 Billion?

We is it that we spend more on defense than the ENTIRE world does?

Shoot if we wnat ot save money for other expenditures, we should cut the military. Hell if $419 Billion cant stop 2 planes from hitting two buildings, no amount of money will.

1. The powers that be are well aware that it will be health care or
guns your country buys. Don' worry about consumer goods. Those will all be really cheap and from China. Perhaps that is where we will all be having surgery some day... they do a really good production line for eye surgery in India.

8. We could start
by restoring the name Dept of War, so we can at least be a little bit less self-delusional about what we're paying for.

6. World domination is not cheap
The concentrations of wealth that run the country are out to dominate the world and they have to be able to kill those that oppose them. Read this- http://globalresearch.ca/articles/CHO503A.html

Those that oppose US world domination are terrorist. Of course the flip side is the rest of the world sees us as terrorist when we destroy Falujah as an example that we mean business. That is what torture is about- instilling terror.

The above link says we are out for world conquest. We could run out of gas. We could run out of money to borrow. Our currency might fail. But by golly we are going for it and if you oppose it, they will have a law for you. Well, they might skip the law part as it is not necessary. They can lock you up now without charges for as long as they want and not tell anyone where you are. They own the machine and you are just a battery.

Bush just increased military co-payments by 100%. That should bring in the money we need.

11. Didn't you hear about "Chapter Eleven-Bravo"?
Edited on Sun Mar-20-05 01:52 AM by TahitiNut
 (Note: "Eleven-Bravo" {11Bxx} was the old MOS for an Army infantryman. "Chapter 11" is a section of the bankruptcy law {related to corporations}. I hate explaining puns.)

14. Also make the rich pay taxes.
It aint gonna happen. The Dems and Rethugs will never cut miltary spending or force the rich to pay a fair share of taxes.

15. Spending that kind of money...
has nothing to do with "defense". It's for the maintenance of the empire. The US government is busy operating nearly 750 bases worldwide and those are the ones that are known.

Rome was once a republic too.
