Oh my….another “Poor Little Elian” event, what is it with Florida?
Remember when the media and the right was going ape-shit over Elian? They wanted to take a little boy away from his father and give the boy to a guy with snakes on arms….when you think about it a moment…this sure seems like a “Poor Little Elian, let the guy with snakes on arms have him.”

3. it is - one of the most hypocritical things about our society
is that we are artificially sentimental.

One the one hand we can't stand the thought that a cluster of cells that MIGHT grow up to be a human could be aborted because that "unborn" human has so much potential, while we rah rah every criminal we put to death through the judicial system.

We think so fondly of our own happy weddings and families and yet want to make sure that an entire group of Americans can never marry or have a family.

We love to get all misty eyed over the noble sons and daughters who have given the ultimate sacrifice for freedom but don't even think twice about the 100,000 civilians we've killed there in the name of those same "freedoms".

And the media plays on all of it, relentlessly. I keep thinking of a MadTV spoof on Extreme Home Makeover, where they go on and on about somebody getting his legs shot off and how poor the family is and then about the mother, and finish with, ".... and .... she doesn't have lips", and then cut to the character and indeed she doesn't have lips. Makes you all teary eyed.

14. This has probably been posted but here is an article from ABC
about this whole thing about the memo sent out and why Terri Schivao.

Link: http://news.tbo.com/news/MGB6YQPTI6E.html

Snip: <xcerpt -
A memo from GOP leaders meant to be seen only by Republican senators
pointed out the political ramifications of the Schiavo debate and
how it could help them with Christian conservatives in the 2006
midterm elections. According to The Washington Post, the memo
singled out Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Tallahassee, who is up for re-
election next year.

"This is an important moral issue and the pro-life base will be
excited that the Senate is debating this important issue," said the
memo, which was reported by ABC News and later given to the
Post. "This is a great political issue, because Senator Nelson of
Florida has already refused to become a cosponsor and this is a
tough issue for Democrats.">

16. Really telling
Edited on Sun Mar-20-05 01:29 PM by FreedomAngel82
I was telling a friend of mine this morning at church about this case. I told her about the Right for Life rule in '99 and what happend to baby Sun and the sixty-eight year old man and the rule they inforced when Bush was governor. She couldn't believe it (and she voted for Bush so ) and thought it was insane. I told her how I thought Congress and the Senate is doing crazy things lately and she agreed. The only reason why they're doing this is for 2006. The memo proves it. I just wrote to my Congressman expressing how pissed off I was about this and showed him a few links that could help my side of the story and how I was pissed off Congress wasn't doing anything about other important issues and named a few that meant a lot to me.

15. There is something wrong with Florida. Remember Dead Ted's Head?
All of this stuff seems to happen near to where my parents live, but I'm from Florida and have long said that there is something seriously wrong down there. Take a trip down memory lane.....

Ted Bundy, serial killer, escaped to.....Florida
The Gainesville Killer...left the heads of his victims...never mind.
Elian Gonzalez
Andrew Cunanan (sp). After killing several people he went to...Florida.
The Florida Department of Children and Families
The first KNOWN female serial killer.
The adoptive parents who tortured their children.
DEAD TED AND THE FIGHT OVER HIS HEAD!
The 2000 Election

and on and on it goes.

19. Fl (D) Rep on CSPAN is making some excellent points!
He stated that Congress is about to violate the Constitution by ignoring seperation of powers. They are trumping the Judicial branch's powers by doing this! (I missed his name).
