Insights from a candlelight vigil. (Please Read)

Tonight, I attended a candlelight vigil at a Methodist church in Denver. The vigil was in honor of those that have died in the Iraq war. I felt that I needed to honor them on this occasion and I heard about it through the Sojourners newsletter. One of the ministers who spoke at this vigil said the following things:

"War is never a final answer if we are to be multi-colored or multi-cultured." I actually wrote that down just so I could quote it since I liked it so much. But I talked to a number of people after the vigil. I told them my story. It is great to see that these people agree with me about Mr. Bush and the state of the war and the country today. They expressed regret at the fact that many churches have supported the war and Bush. It was gratifying to see a good number of more progressive Christians. They gave me some names of people that are more progressive Christians, in my own area no less a few of them. But just to say, it was a good night. This and the rally yesterday made all the things going on feel more present.
