Living Will Registry On Line
With all this talk about Terri Schiavo I found this site. If anyone is concerned about their own right being trampled on by Congress and is considering having protection for themselves if needed in the future.

http://www.uslivingwillregistry.com/faq.shtm
After your document is registered, you will receive notification by mail, along with labels to attach to your driver's license and insurance card stating that you are registered with the U.S. Living Will Registry, and a wallet card listing your Registration number. Once registered, your documents and emergency contact information will be available to health care providers across the country. You will have peace of mind knowing that your wishes will be available whenever and wherever they are needed. Your family will not have to make difficult decisions on your behalf, and by having your wishes available, the problems that can occur when family members disagree about treatment will be avoided.
There are many other sites just GOOGLE or SEARCH.

Maybe we should also send a copy to Congress so they know our wishes

3. Her parents
would even be contesting a Living Will. The Terry Randall's of this country would too. It is their idea of the Right to Life. Can't you see that? It is far bigger issue. Bush said, "Promote Culture of Life." READ between the lines, please. Did you read that statement from the Vatican? NOBODY has the right to end a life. Not a spouse, not a Health Proxy, not doctors, NOT EVEN YOU. "God decides when you should die." Scary, scary, scary.

4. Good idea, but where will you put the documents?
If they're not on your person or nearly immediately available in time of need, they're virtually useless. In short, if the doc doesn't have your living will in his hand in the ER, your living will doesn't exist. The doc is then required by law throughout the U.S. to make all "reasonable' efforts to save your life, regardless of the quality of that life.

Glad to see that U.S. Living Will Registry has improved their delivery method. Their program is extremely limited as to availability for most of the country. www.fullcircleregistry.com provides a more readily available and comprehensive service for a fee.

There are others out there. Choose wisely.
