The Disturbing Thing…Now There Is Not Even Pretense |
|
With the events of this past weekend, the Republican Party has given up the fiction that we are humans with the right of self-determination. Now we are only things. The Republican Party has stated with their actions that they have the right to determine when we live and when we die. With flowery words about affirmation of life, the Republican Party has with mailed-fist slammed shut the chains on rights to live and die.
We are living in dark times.

2. As did our party members in the Senate...a stunner, not even one balked. |

And I've been touting Reid (and will continue to do this if he straightens out).

I'm tired of beating a dead horse, BUT the bill only give Schiavo's parents legal standing.
Who's the judge they hope to get in front of to make all this go away? OOPS! I missed the news about today's hearing. :0

4. Can we start discussing solutions yet? |
|
It's obvious (even to some thinking Republicans) that these people are OUT OF FUCKING CONTROL. I think we need to start talking about how we are going to take our country and our government back.
Let's get creative.

5. Michael Schiavo said the same thing |
|
I saw an interview on ABC nightly news (6:30) and he was asked about the new bill. He said (can't remember his exact words, but it went something like this) "Our government now has total control over our personal lives. This is a dark day for the people of this country". Don't quote me on this, but his words were very close to these.
