1. I believe it is because Dubya's "victory" in 2000 over ---
-- Al Gore was an electoral college victory and a disputed election. History will mark Dubya as an asterisked president -- who lost the popular vote and who had to go to court to secure his "win."

Also, the * kind of looks like an asshole. Hence the association.

4. It started
because his name would forever be graced with a footnote marker:

Bush, George Walker*

*Awarded office by a bizarre and contentious Supreme Court ruling.

It's since been shortened to just an asterisk.

7. I get the happy giggles
when I see how popular the * continues to be. Manufactured memes don't usually have staying power.

10. To me an * looks like
a star and it is with the number 8, a sideways sign of infinity.

I like ***'s, they are pretty, so I do not use it for him.

I write bush. I choose not to capitalize it or any of their names, that's how I show my lack of respect.

Another thing I don't do is use sexual terms as insults...because since when is sex a bad thing? I prefer to use sexual terms for the fun meanings they signify, not waste them on those guys.
