4. Easy - he's Catholic (Notre Dame undergrad & law)
Even though my Dad and brother were ND grads, and both very humanitarian and liberal, I have to say that 2 of the most fanatic neocons I know are also ND grads, from a later era. It seems when it comes to Catholic universities, the grads divide into those who can think for themselves, practise responsible birth control and live in the real world where they actually (gasp) associate with various protestants, jews, muslims and agnostics,and leave the Church; and neocons who cross themselves every time they pass a Catholic church and only associate with other "devout" Catholics. Wonder if this judge is an Opus Dei old boy like Scalia.

7. Extremely safe bet if he spent all that $$ on TWO ND degrees.
And going to Notre Dame means you MUST take all the theology courses whether you're Catholic or not
