$ of litigation for TS vs. $ for 100% alive kids |
|
I have no idea how much all this litigation is costing Florida and federal taxpayers, but I'm sure it's in the hundreds of thousands of dollars in court costs, etc. All this for a woman whose best shot at life is to die, one day, in a permanent vegetative state. All this for ONE human being, who has had due process out the ying yang. On the other hand, there are hundreds of thousands of school kids in Florida (and across the nation). They all need public educations. Medicine. You get the point. The Dems could make an excellent point that this whole circus has deprived kids of their needs, partially. I don't think the Repukes/fundies would be able to defend that fact very well.

2. Yup, a point that I actually emailed someone about |

Earlier today. The time, money and energy that has gone into this... why not feed people that need it, house people who need it, provide medicine, drug-abuse help, housing for veterans, volunteer at all sorts of places... you could help so many more people. But no. Hype begets hype, hypocrisy, and holier-than-thou-attitude. "Protesting" this is easy. Affecting real change is hard. Thus, do this, feel better about yourself for doing 'something', and don't worry about real problems. Sad, really.
