Homosexuality, Coors, and the Christian Right |
|
Edited on Fri Mar-25-05 04:00 PM by ck4829
I spent a while today looking though files of Anti-GLBT quotes from the Christian Right. I had a bad feeling after I was done. I could just see the hatred in those words, it sickened me.
I saw all the things they said about Homosexuality, they said it was bad for you.
Drinking Beer is bad for you too (and I hope nobody tries to debate me and say that drinking alcohol is good), but I don't see the Christian Right in a big rush to ban alcohol, I don't see the Christian Right in a hurry to bring back Prohibition. Not that I want to see the return of that era, we are going back far enough as it is.
Bad things (Accidents, crime, etc.) that happen the person that causes them is drunk = A lot
Now compare that to Homosexuality.
This isn't about apples and oranges. I want to see both of these issue of alcohol and the Coors Brewery brought to the table.
If the Christian Right is on a warpath to bring morals back to America, let's see them try something to regulate alcohol and Coors.

1. Homosexuality is a SIN, alcohol is not. Big difference. |
|
So "bad for you" isn't exactly it.

2. It's one of the arguments they use |

Everybody from AFA to FOF uses a discredited doctor who says Homosexuality will make people who do it sick.

3. It's a cover, the "sin" part is what is driving them. |

4. Actually, drinking a little wine is good for one's health. |
|
And prohibition has never worked -- that's something the right has refused to learn from the so-called war on drugs. But they did learn it about alcohol.
