What part of "Persistent Vegetative State" do you not understand???

A caller on C-Span had the best answer I heard since this whole ordeal began. She asked why the religious right is so afraid of their God. She asked if they love God so much, why do they not want to go and be with Him? She also stated that if they believe its "God's will" as to when life ends, then they need to believe that God ended Terri Schiavo's life 15 years ago.

The problem is a lot of people are having a hard time believing the diagnosis and they're not all religious nuts.

I'm not comfortable with it based on what I've read. I don't own a bible, haven't been in a church in probably 20 years, and am solidly agnostic. i.e. I'm not a bible thumping religious nut, and I'm not convinced one way or the other.

I could be persuaded, but none of the actors pushing positions ON EITHER SIDE seem credible to me. I wanted more, and more reliable information, before I'd swing one way or the other, but the media has been just regurgitating entrenched rhetoric from both sides, some of which is VERIFIABLE LIES - again coming from both sides.

That's not the kind of information environment I'm happy with.

Notice that 7 September 2001 is a Friday. September 11th was a Tuesday. So the only day this order could be rescinded would have been September 10th.

Jeb Bush signs what appears to be a fairly standard Executive Order regarding the Florida National Guard to:

It is Section 3 that is interesting....

Section 3.

The Florida National Guard may order selected members on to state active duty for service to the State of Florida pursuant to Section 250.06(4), Florida Statutes, to assist FDLE in performing port security training and inspections. Based on the potential massive damage to life and property that may result from an act of terrorism at a Florida port, the necessity to protect life and property from such acts of terrorism, and inhibiting the smuggling of illegal drugs into the State of Florida, the use of the Florida National Guard to support FDLE in accomplishing port security training and inspections is "extraordinary support to law enforcement" as used in Section 250.06(4), Florida Statutes.
