Anyone else here the story about the talking box on MSNBC
Was watching MSNBC about an hour or so ago (about 12 EST) and a commentator said that in addition to the claims that Terri could talk by the lawyer from the law firm representing the parents, part of their motion before Judge Greer also included some claim that they had some kind of box that could be attached to Terri's head and that when attached you would be able to hear her speak clearly.

Are the Schindler lawyers completely crazy? This is so unprofessional that it disgusts me. A lawyer has the duty to represent his clients "zealously", but when it reaches the point of presenting bizarre, ridiculous claims a lawyer also has the obligation to say "no".

These lawyers for the Schindlers are getting away with things that in the normal course of legal practice would cause them to be sanctioned, fined, made to pay for frivolous filings and even disciplined.

4. Fortunately, I did NOT see it.
I'd of probably thrown something at my TV! This is so bizarre, it's like a foreign movie with no subtitles and the soundtrack is a series of noises versus music.........

5. If she could talk last week why wait until yesterday to file a motion.
Why not spend the week proving she could talk.

9. Right, since the supposed talking took place on 3/18
It would have been the perfect lead in their pleadings in federal court asking the case be reopened and that newly discovered evidence be permitted as a part of the de novo review.

6. How on earth did the Shindler lawyers miss the "bark translator"
gizmo? It's a miraculous device that tells you what your dog is saying and was a popular gift item a couple of years ago. Should I be a nice guy and forward the information to them?

16. "Trial lawyers", and yes, they should be disbarred.
Isn't lying to the judge majorly against the rules? I mentioned this yesterday when this travesty was first reported. I just can't believe the court system has to put up with this abusive circus being orchestrated by these hypocritical, sanctimonious, misnamed "right to life" trial lawyers.

10. These hypocrites talk about the sanctity of life...what
about "the dignity of death"? This poor woman should not have this circus around her as she lays dying.

These networks are as misguided as the Schindlers and their followers.

15. Wouldn't they be better served
Edited on Sat Mar-26-05 01:18 PM by thecrow
if they spent Terri's last days beside her, holding her hand and praying that she will pass in peace?

on edit: Shouldn't they be rejoicing that she will be in Heaven if that's what they believe? Isn't that a far better place? They should talk to other relatives who are going through the same difficult time at the hospice instead of making the other relatives' life (and their loved ones who are dying) a living hell!!

How can any attorney get away with something like this?
