Holy hell - A freeper tried to convert me tonight!!! |
|
Sitting at a bar, in BLUE country mind you (CHICAGO), and some dumb ass Bushbot starts chatting with me. Kind words at first while we watched the NCAA tourney...then all of a sudden he starts in on politics. Telling me all about the great Bush agenda, blah, blah, blah.
I was kindly nodding and said early on that I was a Democrat. Finally, I just had to start - F-9/11 (which he'd seen) and then I attacked with the Ohio voting inconsistencies. He basically shut up after that. Typical repug.
Sorry - I just had to vent...pain in the ass people!

These days, I cut to the chase. I don't play around with those Bush-licking scumbags anymore: "Well, you are a great patriot! Let's go down to the Army recruiter first thing in the morning and sign you up. I'll give you a ride... WHAT?!? ... NOPE!... NO EXCUSES!!!" - it tends to get uglier from here on. :grr:

2. my first thought is, I wish you'd played along. |
|
because he might have hit on you eventually and then you really could have nailed him for some hypocrisy. It might just have been that "patriotic code" that conservative men on the DL use.

Sounds like he was in doubt, he was wafflin,, possibly changling. Don't hammer him. don't insult him. He is really not your enemy, the BushFuckCamp is. Please, remember this important fact.

It never used to bother me, but now I can't talk to those people for any extended period of time without feeling like my brain is melting.

Did the freeper bring up Clinton? I'd be surprised if he didn't.

I am surrounded by right wingers and they are constantly trying to convert me to the dark side. I usually just tell them if they support bush and his war so much, they need to enlist. Shuts them up almost every time.

13. Thats pretty much a regular thing here in a 'died in the wool' red state.. |
|
Its like with every election my state is always first to go Republican..In the '80s Jerry Falwell even announced that the state had gone Republican..Anyway you learn to either stand up to them here or ignore them depending on the situation..Sometimes they are friends or relatives which can make good relations tricky and conversation all too challenging..
