Anyone take the Zogby poll today? |
|
What was with the part about Porto Rico becoming a State? Anyone know what that was all about? I don't have a problem with it becoming a state but man will that screw up the American Flag.

Time enough to decide, statehood or independence. I prefer statehood but hey if they want to go their own way than more power to them.

Voted Texas off to make room for PR on the flag. Sorry blue Texans, you're gonna win this one big time.

I had always been led to believe they chose to stay a territory, living tax-free that way.

9. YAY! More Blue States! |
|
Puerto Rico would almost certainly be a blue state. So would Guam, and there can be no doubt that DC would be.

14. I e-mailed Zogby about the party affiliation question: "Democrat?" NO!!!!! |
|
It's the ***Democratic*** Party, dammit!!! :grr: My e-mail text:
In your usual survey question regarding political party affiliation, among your choices is "Democrat." I object to this wording -- it should be "Democratic" -- that is what has historically been printed on my ballot, and that is correct. If you look on the DNC Web site, the banner reads "The Democratic Party," not "The Democrat Party." I'm not being picky here. In the last few years, right-wing radio hosts and cable-TV conservative talking heads have used the phrase "Democrat Party" in their bloviations. Right-wing bloggers consistently mention the "Democrat Party." This is deliberately demeaning, as if to deny the fact that the Democratic Party can be democratic, etc. Please don't fall for this trick, or propagate it. I urge you to correct your survey wording to read accurately, "Democratic" when referring to the Democratic Party. Thanks for your consideration of this matter -- I appreciate taking the surveys and having a voice. Kind regards,

17. "It's the ***Democratic*** Party, dammit!!!" |

I couldn't agree more.
It's a subtle way of degrading us, and I correct the idiot who uses "Democrat Party" every time.
I have been in some fierce arguments on this subject.
At 6' and 250lbs, they start calling me "Democratic" pretty quickly.LOL
