Sorry for another TS tread, but WHAT is this woman doing?????
Edited on Sun Mar-27-05 06:18 AM by KrazyKat
And what the hell does her sign, "Bush's SAVE Terri" mean? The photo caption says she's praying, but she looks more like she's ringside at a WWF match.

Also note the **extremely** biased wording on the photo caption from CBS News. :grr:
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/03/26/national/main683300.shtml

Demonstrator Donna Kuntz of Lutz, Fla., prays for Terri Schiavo outside the hospice where the brain-damaged woman has been without nutrients or hydration for eight days.

1. She does look like she's at a WWF event, no question.
And as for the caption, it's actually toned down from the original version CBS was going to run, which was:

"One of God's Chosen prays outside the hospice where activist judges and immoral liberals have brutally tortured poor Terri Schiavo for over a week."

So it's better than it was, but still...

2. She is praying in the church I do not want to go to.
I wonder why these people who act like fools think we will all rush to their church?

3. I hate to say it but,
it's better that her eyes are closed in the photo. I cannot stand the look those people have in their eyes. It's extremely glassy and glazed and they look like they have been brainwashed or hypnotized. It's an incredibly dead cold hearted looking stare at the same time as well. I can't stand it. And to think. Once this circus is over and the woman dies, they msm is going to talk about it endlessly and of course, they'll televise the funeral and ask more celebrities what they think. It's funny when celebrities campaign for liberal candidates, it's considered some sort of mortal sin or illegal activity by the msm, but when one wants to be president they'll lead the charge to make it legal for people not born in this country to run for president. And of course they want to know what right wing celebrities think of this case. I know this is about something serious, but the extra added melodrama makes me sick. :puke:

10. And my reaction after checking back on this thread
was "Damn! What a freak show!" That picture of that woman and the other pictures and news about that bunch of morbid rubbernecking Bush groupies really looks like a circus freak show. I wonder what woodwork they crawled out of. How do these people make a living? How can they afford to take 9 days or longer to camp out outside of Hospice? It's like a concert for the "morally correct" or so that's what they think of themselves.

4. My guess: supposed to read, "Bushes, Save Terri!"
Shame on CBS for their extreme RW bias with this article. Totally unprofessional.

12. You can't change the spelling of a proper name...
...so her sign is written properly.

18. Actually, it does need a comma
although the spelling is correct (must NOT be a Freeper).

26. Actually, checksnbalances is correct - she is referring to more than one
Bush, so it should read "Bushes". Similar to "keeping up with the Joneses". NO apostrophe.

13. The scary part is...
...that the sign indicates to me that she is praying to George and Jeb. They have their own full-blown cult of personality similar to what Stalin and Hitler had. Anyone who thinks that Jeb's presidential hopes are being dashed by this should perhaps think again.

16. Why don't we get the same treatment
when we protest the murder of Iraqis? The senseless deaths of our troops?

We are shown as hippy freaks, "insurgents," "protesters."

She is a "demonstrator" Demonstrating what? That one brain-dead woman is of more value than 100,000 plus innocent Iraqis? Than 1500+ American kids? That the religious fundamentalists can work themselves into a lather over pulling a feeding tube, but won't even LOOK at all the Iraqi people and wounded soldiers who HAVE BEEN BOMBED, MAIMED, TORTURED? Their god mocks their selective sensitivity. I hope they all rot in hell.

And the media: the media are more disgusting than this woman.

17. Dont be like them
Its an easy thing to do as we all know. Find an unflattering picture or search for the "wierdos" in a large crowd and put them center stage with those who are really trying to send a proper message. Look at all the anti-war protests. The media searches for some idiot in the crowd talking about "alien agendas from Mars" and put them center stage as the spokesperson for the whole group. We certainly dont appreciate it on our end.

As such, I know there are alot of religious people who not only work to help better our society but also held anti-war signs shoulder to shoulder with us to fight an immoral war. Just something to remember before condemning all.

21. Why can they never spell/use punctuation/rules of English correctly?
Geez!

If I were making a big sign and putting myself out there, I'd make sure the sign was...I don't know....correct?

I've been wondering, and this is totally northeastern elitist liberal thinking, if the people outside Terri's hospice aren't that well educated. I mean, for them to believe they can give her bottled water, to believe she'll snap out of this.... Maybe that's a horrible thing to say, and I know enough to know that being "educated" doesn't always make you smart... I make grammar/spelling/punctuation errors sometimes...

Maybe it's less of an 'education' thing and more of an 'easily led' thing.

22. One thing that puzzles me.....
Is that, being a Christian as I am, I would rather be happy for the trip that Terri is about to take rather then keep her stuck in the form she is today. The one thing Christians strive for is being a better person in the world we live in to earn a spot in a wonderful afterlife. I would think that is why Terri wouldnt want to be kept in a "stasis".

Just my thought.
