Sean Hannity and Ruth's Chris Steakhouse |
|
"When you go to Ruth's Chris' Steakhouse, tell 'em Sean Hannity sent you."
So goes Hannity's ads as paird endorser for the Louisiana-based restaurant chain. My question is how the average laid-off employee/listener whose job went to India can afford to shell out $130 bucks for to take his/her sweetie out for a T-bone?

I take my mother to a steakhouse of her choice on her birthday.
The steaks at Ruth's Chris; only run 30-40 dollars, the sides are 6 or so a piece. I was able to take my mother out for around $50 dollars last year. So to be fair you only have to spend $100 per outing.
Now maybe we can get Al Franken to do a Sizzler ad where the average laid off worker can afford.
And maybe Randi Rhodes can do a Pepto Dismal commercial for the diarrhea that is sure to follow :))

If both ordered steaks, the bill would rise considerably.
(Cheers to the tolerant vegan, by the way!)

The rot gut that follows eating red meat is not helped by pepto dismal.
BTW, Berns in Tampa is the best steakhouse in the area.
Speaking of jobs...We went to a Seafood restaurant in Hilton Head this past weekend and my husband noticed that all of the waiters were Hispanic and pointed out, they they are taking "the jobs the Americans don't want," you know the 60k a year jobs like this one. :eyes:
Great waiter though!

Ate at Ruth's Chris once (taken by some friends for a celebration). I thought it was very over-rated and over-priced.....
Now Morton's! is worth going to if you win the lottery!

But, if one comes to town, I'll walk in and say, "Why do you support fascism by advertising on a hate-mongering show like Hannity's?" and then walk out.

12. My partner and I ate at a Ruth's Chris 10 years ago or so |
|
I was a headhunter and I had just gotten my first big commission check. We went out to Ruth's Chris and the food was really quite good, but it was probably the first real steak house I'd ever eaten at (I was 22 or 23 at the time). It was expensive, but good. We promised ourselves we'd go back, but shortly afterwards we found out they advertised with Rush Limbaugh, so bye-bye Ruth's Chris.

27. "Libruls" Don't Have Money |
|
Media advertising mantra says wingnuts have money, they spend money and their stupid with how they spend it. They'll spend on the Viagra and the big steak dinners and the Home Depot crap and so on, and this goes to pay for the large corporate hate radio machine.
I've never heard of this steakhouse and now that I know they put money into division and intolerance, I never expect to set foot in any of their places...and if I do, I'll gladly let everyone know why I'm leaving and ruin their dinners in the process.
Unfortunately, the MO on the left is they don't have money and don't support advertisers...a major reason Progressive radio languishes in radio's backwater.

Bob Nardelli, CEO of Home Depot (we got him from GE, and plenty of us would be happy to give him back) is a serious Repug. He has directed a large percentage of our corporate contributions to the GOP, and his personal contributions are pure GOP.
Now let's look at the two men who started the company, Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank. Except for one inexplicable contribution to Saxby Chambliss, Arthur Blank's money goes exclusively to Democrats. Bernie Marcus, OTOH, is probably worse of a Repug than Nardelli. He donated a LOT of money to Denise Majette, which qualifies him for some seriously-unpleasant reward to be announced at a later date.

It closed a couple of months later. And this was after they completely GUTTED the place and did a VERY expensive TOTAL renovation. They must have blown a few hundred grand renovating and preparing that place to open and it was really big. It was ALWAYS empty. Gone now.

The owner explained it in a commercial I heard once. Her name is Ruth. At some point in the past, she bought a steakhouse called "The Chris Steakhouse." Hence, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.
Anyway, I've been there a few times. It's a damn fine steak. I prefer it to Morton's or Shula's. Though they are all about the same.

...that clears up a minor but irritating mystery.
Although it definitely gives rise to another mystery. Whythehell didn't she just re-name the joint "Ruth's Steak House That Used to Be Chris' Steak House?"
Oh never mind... you want a good chunk of cow come to Baltimore and eat at Tio Pepe.
Best, absolutely BEST cow ever.
nostalgically, Bright
