Laura Bush Sticks Her Nose Into the Schiavo Case

Snip.......First lady Laura Bush also commented on the case Tuesday, saying the government was right to have intervened on behalf of Schiavo.

"It is a life issue that really does require government to be involved," Bush said aboard a plane bound for Afghanistan, where she was promoting education and women's rights.

Is this story just plain getting old????...I just wish that at this point Terri would just slip off after all 13 days of dehydration has to have already taken a serious permanant toll on much of her organs by now.

1. could there be any symbolism to the fact that she made the comment in the
air while en route to AFGHANISTAN? I mean, why would she not make her comments while standing here in the soil of this heretofore democratic United States where the rule of law has served us all so well for the last 200 years. COWARD! just like her bush boy and his condosleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaza lice.

I hear this and i just want to puke!

40 million uninsured Americans is a life issue! Where's the emergency session to deal with that?

Take another Xanax Laura and have some more botox.

4. It's a liberty issue
That's what I keep saying when I hear the "life" bullshit. It's not about life, it's about liberty (ie, the individual freedom to make your own decisions or have your proxy make them for you).

6. Plenty to satisfy her desire to go to Afganistan "in the spring' as she
Edited on Wed Mar-30-05 01:04 PM by Malva Zebrina
said more than a few months ago. She will spend a total of five hours on the ground and I am certain that will give her just such a great insight into the culture of Afganistan. She will have dinner and pictures show her "shopping" for bread and for carpets and oh she posed like only this mannequin can pose with a peasant or something and Laura is holding a huge shovel. She visited the University also. She is the perfect Ugly American, five hours on the ground, and that included a grand dinner, and she thinks she has seen the culture of Aftganistan. People should be sick of this marketing ploy that is costing us so much money sending a Stepford( whose stated idea of a good vacation is to shop and eat) woman there for nothing but her desire to go on a nice five hour vacation to exotic places.

Five hours on the ground--back and forth on a huge airplane and NOTHING to show for it but photos of a sloppy dressed first lady shopping and eating and visiting a University. I have no idea of what it would have cost--a million?

7. Is
Talking about the huge progress made in a country you've never been to before a little like the flight attendent welcoming you to the city they just arived at with you. Anyways She manages to plug democracy, education and buy some cookies. Yippy. Hey Laura how but tell George to fund our AMERICAN schools or back AMERICAN election reform?

"We must be mindful though, that democracy is more than just elections. The survival of a free society ultimately depends on the participation of all its citizens, both men and women," she said. "This is possible if institutions like this exist to give women the basic tools they need to contribute fully to society — and the most critical tool of all is an education."
