Does everyone realize how quick our descent into insanity has been? |
|
It was started when Clinton's penis got the better of his brains. The VRWC rode a truck through it and paved the way for * 's rule. From then on we have become an insane nation with cooked elections, cooked wars, cooked books, cooked hysteria and just about every ill that you can think of.
THOSE WHOM THE GODS WISH TO DESTROY,THEY FIRST MAKE MAD.

3. Our little head has been thinking for the big head since... |

FOREVER!
I think things went south starting when that IDIOT Jerry Ford occupied the Whitehouse.
It made for funny SNL routines but at that point all the whacko players felt at least as qualified to try to rule planet USA.

5. it really started with the neocon coup within the repuke party |
|
when they took out Nixon and started down the path that gave us "profitable-ends-justify-any-means" Reagan.
But it has been in superoverdrive for the past five years.

Moon's help was critical in getting Reagan elected, and he has exerted a lot of control over the Republicans ever since. http://www.consortiumnews.com/archive/moon1.htmlhttp://www.consortiumnews.com/archive/moon.html

6. Its actually taken a lot longer that the past few years |
|
before it percolated up into the mass consciousness....
It became more & more commonplace and so we accepted it...
"its not that bad" we said...
and so it grew...
"yeah, there are some crazy people in this world, but we are still OK" we told ourselves.....
problem is, now there is no more lying about what has happened.... this country & society is completely unbalanced and toppling over and there is no way to stop it from happening.....

16. seeds planted all along the way |
|
Edited on Thu Mar-31-05 06:08 PM by G_j
the deaths of MLK & John Lennon represented a sort of cycle of darkness to me in our/my culture (with Reagan thrown in to cement the omnious feeling). I also remember personal decisions we have all made. It seems we have let many shadows grow and eventually they manifest and become more than just shadows....& here we are!
BUT, I know for a fact we have also planted many, many good and beautiful seeds along this way too. All is not lost, many good things will continue to 'manifest' through the continual efforts of folks like us.

This has been going on for about 40 years. Ever since Nixon felt the smack of the media in his face the right has been struggling to undermine and eventually dominate the media.
Around the time of Reagan they had their machine in place. They destroyed Carter. After that they believed they had the whole thing sewed up. But Clinton threw them for a loop. This is why they hated him so much. They believed their machine was in place. They believed nothing could stand in their way any longer. But then Clinton.
So they turned their machine full blast on Clinton. The media was fed endless stories about the failings of the man. And they complied to the rights direction. Having been evicerated as a tool for the people the media had become a message center for the right and a profit tool for the corporations.
Today the left cannot even begin to bring this beast down. Any action started is countered by an endless array of talking heads. Spindoctors and talking points.
Until the left finds a way to force the media to return to doing it's job or finds a way to game it more effectively than the right has we are going to see the right continue to rise. Even the fiasco of Schiavo will be paved over. Have you seen any polls broadcast lately? Of course not. That would give people the impression that they were not alone in their rejection of this circus.
There will be some short term repircusions. But the religious right will not move to the left. They have been too poisoned. If they do not seek seperation from the US as a whole they will simply be folded back into the party over time. The media will continue to dispense their delusional poison. The public will be lulled back into compliance. And the right will continue to be seen as the most trustworthy represenation of political group in America.

12. It's insane, but try to see the good |
|
That is happening. The grassroots are taking control of our party slowly. It is the Internet that is enabling this. We have to focus on the positive or we will get bitter and turn away from activism.
The bad that the right does will eventually cause consquences that cannot be ignored or spun away and then hopefully the American people will wake up.
In the meantime we can keep on bringing people to our point of view and exposing them to the truth they don't get from the Corporate media.
Visualize the feeling we get when the right's leadership is expelled from thier party, disgraced, and or indicted. It will come to pass one day.
