1. Probably wasn't part of the deal |
|
They probably told him to say it was his fault and they wouldn't fire him.

He knows too much, and they probably also have something on him. They are locked into a death spiral together.

3. Well, there's the $64 question |
|
Usually when someone screws up so badly that thousands of people die, there's some kind of reckoning. Of course in this, The Administration of Someone Else's Fault, nobody lost his job in the aftermath of September 11. Nobody was forced to tender a resignation over the continuing Afghanistan mess. And nobody is going to be held responsible for the Illegal Iraq Invasion.
Well, there are all those dead soldiers and civilians, but they hardly matter to this corrupt administration. What's really important is control of those rich oil fields. Since the true objective was accomplished, what's a little bloodshed? Okay, a lot of bloodshed? Besides, it probably wasn't anybody you know (very well) or were related to (so very closely) now, was it? If it was, the corrupt Bush administration offers its deepest sympathy, warmest condolences, and please get going now.

How he'd managed to stay around after that is beyond mond-boggling. I bet now he regrets not resigning then.

7. He's smarter than they are |
|
He's confessing to a "crime" any serious investigation is going to exonerate him of. The White House is desperate for any cover at all and is ducking behind anything he's willing to offer. Unfortunately, all he's been able to give them against the incoming projectiles is the defensive equivalent of a wet sheet of toilet paper.
No matter what happens Tenet escapes almost unscathed. The signs have been out there that they intended to hang any PR problems with the Niger uranium on him for a couple of weeks, so he's had some time to figure out just how to escape the bullets from either side.

10. Because the suitcase full of money hasn't arrived yet... |
|
Tenet may take all the heat and blame that Chimpboy should be receiving but a shit load of money can make it seem much, much better on the way out the door.
Right now,my guess is that Tenet and the Bush crime family are in high level discussions as to how much money that would be to take ALL the blame of thousands of deaths in Iraq off of Bush and his administration. When the money is right then Tenet is gone...

16. It still all goes back to Bush... |
|
Wasn't Tenet in the audience when Bush gave the address? Did Tenet tell the administration about the mess up immediately afterwards, and if so, why didn't Bush retract his words immediately (before a LIVE audience)? And if Tenet did NOT immediately inform Bush of the mistake, then he really SHOULD be asked to resign-- in order to maintain consistency.

17. Exactly. WHEN did Bush 'find out'? |
|
They were perfectly content to perpetuate a lie until Wilson came out. And, as Edwards says, "the president and the White House staff are ultimately responsible for what the president says."

He covered for him about 9/11 and he is doing the same with the Uranium lie. The problem is the Washington Post has reported that he lie had been lifted in an earlier speech.

If he were forced to resign, or fired, or whatever, he would surely start to talk. Or write a book.
