The right are hanging us by pitching to the lowest common denominator and picturing us as the "elite" and "activist."

What, should we get stupid? Should we cow-tow to their base (it's happening in many "Dems"). There's a tsunami being created by the ignorant and power hungry and we're all going to be washed away if we don't do something soon.

The flip-flopper charge was something along the lines of "he can argue for both sides of any issue; make the true seem to be false and the false seem true."

I think Socrates must have been the original "Liberal Elite". He was for women - and gays - being in the military. He even advocated combat for women (see "The Republic".)
