Mayhem in Iraq Today. FOUR GIs Dead... *graphic*
Edited on Tue Apr-05-05 12:31 PM by leftchick
Time to catch up on those attacks that have "dropped sharply" since the election.
I know your TV won't be telling you this so I will.....

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Four U.S. troops were killed in clashes and bombings across Iraq, the U.S. military said Tuesday, and videos posted on the Internet showed militants purportedly beheading an Iraqi soldier and killing a reported informer.

A joint U.S.-Iraqi attack on dozens of insurgents in eastern Diyala province on Monday left two American soldiers and one Iraqi soldier dead, U.S. military spokesman said. Two U.S. soldiers were also wounded in the attack, which continued into Tuesday.

In Baghdad's southern Dora neighborhood, an abandoned taxi exploded on an expressway near a U.S. patrol on Tuesday, killing another U.S. soldier and wounding four others, said Sgt. 1st Class David Abrams, a spokesman for Task Force Baghdad.

Another explosion targeted a joint Iraqi-U.S. convoy in Baghdad's Amiriyah neighborhood, said al-Amil police captain Talib Thamir. Abrams said a blast occurred but he did not have any details.

A U.S. Marine was also killed Monday by an explosion in the sprawling, western province of Anbar.

DU rules require that I put a warning in the header. So I did like a good DUer. :)

Could not agree more that this is what ameriKa needs to see to stop the insanity. I won't hold my breath.

6. It's been bothering me that the entire world has focused on 2 lives
over the past few weeks: Terri Schiavo and the Pope. What makes one life more valuable than another? Each of the people dying in Iraq is as important, but they don't even make the first page of the newspaper anymore. I'm disgusted by it all. We had no business going there in the first place and there doesn't appear to be an end in sight. Meanwhile, the President and his cronies work to keep feeding tubes in dead people.

9. US gvt refuses to do Iraq civilian body count unless it serves their,...
,...political agenda.

Here's what I find REALLY weird. Terrorism is defined as violence or threat of violence against civilians for political purposes. What has the US gvt been doing for the last fifty years? What is the US gvt doing now?
