"Ding Ding Ding", end of round one: Culture War |

Edited on Tue Apr-05-05 03:14 PM by salinen
The guy who is fourth in line to be POTUS has overtly threatened judges who make decisions counter to the neo-con agenda. He is counting on the Tim McVeighs of the country to do his nastiness.
Then there's the selection of Bolton. How better to say to the world, "we intend to ruin the United Nations because we will not share power with anyone, especially peaceniks"
Alberto Gonzales was a stick in the eye to most world citisens respecting Geneva Conventions.
In a fair and decent world, Condi would be in solitary confinement or worse for life.
John Negroponte - War criminal.
These are the latest installations from the "values party". These people have no desire for democracy. We (liberals) will continue to be treated as outsiders or like a foreign country. History means that there is only one way to solve this move toward Theocratic/Facsistic/Corporate/Military rule.

4. Really -- how do people think this will play out? |
|
It gets worse and worse.
I think they WANT to destabilize the planet; it's part of their strategy.
When Bush says he's "spreading democracy" -- he's just using weasel words. "Democracy," to him means, free markets (i.e. corporatism) and Israeli dominance. But it sounds nice.
He's needed the fanaticism of the religious right to be his activists and get him and other assholes elected. They're just starting to catch on that he's just been using them. And he has yet to have understood how stirring up these extremists domestically is going to destabilize our own nation.
I have a deep sense that Bush has no sense of patriotism, no love of country -- which, I feel other presidents, whether they have been good or not, have possessed. George's only loyalty is to his class.
I really wonder how this is going to play out. I do not see anything positive developing in the foreseeable future. I fear greatly that we will be dragged through a period of chaos and misery before it will begin to end.
