Wesley Clark was superb defending Michael Moore on CSPAN this AM |
|
Superb! A caller said he had been considering voting for Clark until he heard Moore say what he said about "my president and your commander in chief" being a deserter.
Clark said he was not on the stage when Moore made the remark and did not laugh when Moore said it, as the caller charged. But he added that while he doesn't believe Bush is "technically" a deserter, it's clear there are some "irregularities" in the record that "we'll never get to the bottom of." And, he said, right-wing "shock jocks" make unsubstantiated and unsubstantiable charges about Democrats all the time and get passes from Republican politicians--even from Bush, for example, after Rush's drug charges were disclosed.
What most impressed me was that Clark did not take any step to distance himself from Moore, except to say he didn't "laugh" when Moore called Bush a deserter. He defended Moore's right to speak his mind. He was utterly unapologetic about having Moore in his campaign.
Three cheers for Wesley Clark!

Anyone who calls Bush "my president" is a deluded Bushist. No doubt about it. I hate liars like that piece of slime.

5. He was great. He stood up for Kerry too! |
|
The usual RW mouth breathers called in to insult Kerry and Clinton.
Wes was brilliant and classy and well spoken.
He made the callers look like the lowlifes that they are.

I've been impressed all along with how Clark has handled the right-wing trying to tar him with "Michael Moore who attacked our wartime President supported you so you must be a terra-ist." I've found the fact that Clark hasn't tried to distance himself from Moore's support of him, as many Democrats who never seem to learn would have, to be a sign of strength from Clark.
I've never understood why MM is portrayed as some sort of boogeyman when no one but the far-right seems to see him as such. Certainly Moore has his biases, but the right-wing only hates him so much because he tells the truth, and they seem to have become unable to grasp this concept from forcing themselves to live in Chimp's alternative reality for so long.

11. Clark continues to erode my skepticism about him. |

I wasn't sure about him from day one because he was a Republican for so long. Now I feel compelled to vote for him if he runs again.
