Clueless freepers hold anti gay rally at high school (California) Pics
Edited on Thu Apr-07-05 08:04 PM by Webster Green
Idiot losers held an anti-gay rally across from Rancho Cotati High School in Rohnert Park, California for the second day in a row.

Counter protesters showed up after marching from nearby Sonoma State University. Needless to say, the freepers were far outnumbered by the normal people who showed up to disagree with them. I counted a maximum of about thirty freepers, including the three or four driving around in clown-mobiles.

I took the time to talk to each and every one of the losers, to try to impart some of my special wisdom upon them. They were not overly receptive. My main theme was: "My momma always told me to mind my own beeswax!"

IMO, that would solve quite a few of today's problems!

Edited on Thu Apr-07-05 07:39 PM by MissMarple
They picketed at a downtown high school. They received a most civil and most overwhelming response.

Actually it is the original Colorado Springs High School which now is now William J. Palmer High School. I think they offended a lot of mainstream Republicans who graduated from Palmer. What a way to keep the party together. :eyes:

I'm getting so sick of all their signs.

I couldn't stand their "God made men to rule women" signs, their "If God wanted Women to vote - he would have given them brains."
And I especially hated their, "God hates niggers" signs.

When will these people stop trying to find reasons to hate the persecuted?

28. My son goes to "The Ranch" and is disgusted by the anti-gay protest..
I'm going to post below his reaction to what happened yesterday, from an e-mail he sent:

"I'm going to give you a first-hand account of what exactly went on today at my school, and I feel you will find this interesting and very shocking that students ranging from my age, to seniors (Including the Ring-Leader of this mess, Tim Beuller, whom I am sure you've heard of...) up to anti-gay supporters from other cities. The story as far as I know started this morning immediately after I exited my bus and was getting ready to cross the street. Not even thirty-seconds later, a beat-up mahogany truck crossed, and on top of it were various signs containing anti-gay slurs, and pictures of homosexual men kissing with a slash through it. On the back of it were the ten-commandments and passages from the bible, saying that marriage is only between a man and a woman. To the right of me were kids my age. In fact, I happened to be friends with one of them a couple years back. Personally I felt betrayed because he was just another pot-smoking teenager, who you'd think would like his rights, (The Irony gets worse). He had people with him, including the infamous Tim Beuller, whom I had been hearing about ever since I was in Eighth grade holding up signs, such as "1 Man + 1 Woman=Marriage", and "Silence The Silence", referring to the "Moment of Silence" event taking place at my school this Friday. I just walked across the crosswalk into the school, mighty pissed, and saw somebody I knew videotaping the events. I was curious as to what he might be doing, so I asked him about what was going on about this "Moment of Silence" shindig. I walked into school and things sort of quieted down for a while, and as much as I wanted to go off campus and watch what they were trying to pull by randomly attacking another group's activities. This other group, and the holders of the "Moment of Silence" event is ran by the GSA, or Gay/Straight Alliance, were basically trying to put on an event where the Conservatives didn't exactly need to butt in to this event. Then lunch came along, so I go outside to hear that Channel Five News is at the scene, interviewing the Conservative Club members, including Tim Beuller, spitting his candor about his "anti-gay movement" in front of a private Christian (ironic, huh) school not allowing anybody to park their cars in their parking lot because of all of the anti-gay trucks. A friend of mine in my english class has a brother who is gay, and what ended up happening was that he went up to these conservatives and took one of their signs and ripped it in two. Unfortunately for his bold and brave act, showing his rights as an American, was tackled and 'cuffed for voicing his opinions. Its scary to see that even our Public safety is being warped for their cause. I heard from a friend that on Easter Sunday, Mr. Beuller stood out in from of Cross and Crown (The Private Christian school), blatantly slamming the school for basically not seeing eye-to-eye with him.
It should also be known that there were kids in my school wearing sweatshirts that had the word "Gay" crossed out, but were confiscated (finally they do something about this!!) and one of the offenders was even suspended. Coincidentially, an old friend of mine (accomplice, really..) was suspended for the rest of the day and really it serves him right. A lot of the smarter kids, (even those who had half a brain) realised that the Freshmen out participating in these "Conservative" events were craving attention, and its really sad to see that the youth is starting to get manipulated and poisoned by these faux-Nazis. The most ironic thing about it all is that they are called conservative Republicans! What is "Conservative" about openly despising a group of people-"Gay" is "Gay" and once you think about it, its just another way of thinking just like any conservative beliefs. So then it gets complicated because at that point, you're basically telling the youth of our city that we cant believe in our own personal opinions, biases and cannot think for ourselves. This isnt "Conservative", this is turning into "ridiculous", and eventually we're going to get very sick and tired of it, it's just the fact of the matter. They get mad at other religions for god's sake (no pun intended), and tell them its WRONG. What further appalls me is the fact that our forefathers who formed the Constitution deliberately didnt want to include religious undertones, and they go as far to put god as a witness and a link to the constitution and this country, where, if we delve further into the matter, created the Democratic and Republican Parties, no where in there was "God" included, and basically are warping the constitution into a mess that they think looks just fine to them.
So help us here. This is coming from an informed 15-year old who is appalled at seeing my friends warped into thinking that these people actually are the Messiahs of our generation. Its just gross, and more people are bound to get pissed eventually. I seriously applaud people that are intelligent enough not to fall into their trap of thinking they are calmly "voicing their opinion"..its far more deep than that. It seems to be as though they are basically rectruiting people for their terrible cause. "

Nuff said...

50. Oh, Parents are angry allright,
It's just that when the police are protecting these particular protesters and arresting those who disagree with them it makes you wonder.

Most parents are driven to make sure their kids get the best possible education, get to college, participate in sports hang with their friends and focus their energies on that. It's hard to get people focused on protests such as these without outside agitation.

By the way, I am one pissed off parent!!! Whoever instructed these anti-gay protesters (and, by the way, they were accompanied by lawyers ready to file suit on their behalf), told them EXACTLY when and where to protest to avoid suspension. It's hard to fight this as it is about "Free speech" and they have carefully crafted the protest in that manner, no matter who it incites.

Dems should learn a lesson from this. However, in the high-school environment, unless you are a wacky-ass neocon, you basically want these turds to go away so you can get about the business of getting an education and being a high school kid!!!

62. Just crazy
I know if I had a kid at the school I'd be screaming at the principle to do something about the situation. I think it's very disgusting to be protesting at a Christian high school where kids are supposed to be learning and not dealing with this crap. How are the teachers supposed to teach when the kids are distracted with this? The only reason why the police are arresting the people who are against these protestors is for the media. So they can play victim again.

They do, however, feel intimidated. I asked him if there was a Democratic or progressive club and he said no, it just died....frightening. I told him that what they needed was a good old fashioned debate club to discuss these issues intelligently...and he looked at me funny...Note that he is disturbed that his childhood friend, in fact our old next door neighbor for ten years before we moved down the street, a kid that camped out in our back yard with the rest of the neighbor kids OFTEN, was one of the kids at the protest.

36. That panel truck, #3, is from La Mesa CA. Just a few blocks from my house.
I see it parked on El Cajon BLVD @ Baltimore Dr., every day.
What a shame I'm not into vandalism.

38. I believe Rohnert Park and Santa Rosa are being targeted
Edited on Thu Apr-07-05 08:48 PM by DianeG5385
My son also told me this little tidbit, Mr. Tim Beuller (Republican teenage tool look for him soon on Hannity)has a cell phone and while on campus that day my son told me he was at the drinking fountain, observed him talking on his cell phone receiving instruction. My son said he gave him a "dirty look" while trying to listen to who he was talking to. His conclusion was he was receiving instructions on what to do. Note that my son is 15 and is really angry that his school is being used as a tool for political purposes. He just wants to go to school and have fun, but events have made him seriously pissed off as are the MAJORITY of the kids at the school!

Re: Santa Rosa, a few weeks ago some female junior Republican took it upon herself to post "Red Stars" on the doors of professors she thought too liberal. This has seriously intimidated the teachers at the J.C. and in case you did not know, one of the highest rated J.C.s in the U.S. I'm sure that outside forces were agitating in her case as well!

40. These are the people that really give Christians a bad name. Hateful
and intolerant of anyone that does not believe like they do, they use their handpicked bible phrases and the illusory superiority of false righteous as a vehicle for their intense hatred for others.

These people are frightened and very confused, and I feel sorry for them, but at the same time, I recognize them as dangerously insane.

61. This song says it all...
This is where it all begins, folks.

ARTIST: Rodgers and Hammerstein
TITLE: You've Got to Be Carefully Taught
(from South Pacific)

You've got to be taught to hate and fear
You've got to be taught from year to year
It's got to be drummed in your dear little ear
You've got to be carefully taught

You've got to be taught to be afraid
Of people whose eyes are oddly made
And people whose skin is a different shade
You've got to be carefully taught

You've got to be taught before it's too late
Before you are six or seven or eight
To hate all the people your relatives hate
You've got to be carefully taught
You've got to be carefully taught
