he's apparently on the fence. He doesn't have to worry about re-election, and he can be a stand up old school conservative a lot of times. I've sent him a couple of emails and called once in the last week.

18. I hope others will follow |

This will come back to haunt them someday. These people who are wanting to get rid of the filibuster are too power hungry and high on it. The next time we have control of everything again they'd be wishing they wouldn't do this.

Our tortures are gentle and sweet, like fluffy bunnies and chocolate cake. Who could possibly vote against American torture?

9. He knows rePukes won't run things FOREVER (one way, or another)... |
|
Now don't take that "one way, or another" part the wrong way...
I'm only inferring that when people in power behave like "Romanovs" for long enough, right or wrong "somebody" usually invents "Bolsheviks" and we all know how THAT story ends.
Not that I'm signing up to be or support Lenin, mind you. PEACE LOVE DOVE, kiddies.

11. Called his Washington office this morning and discussed |
|
three issues this was one. Sounded like he had already made up his mind from the sounds of the legislative assistant tone. Called Kyl's office too re 3 same issues. Hate having to call repukes for something they already know is wrong...waste of money for the phone call... felt like a beggar instead of a constiuent...they own all the machinery!

Uh. And John Kerry was the flipflopper? LOL. :eyes: I haven't seen him flip or flop once since the election. He's been pretty clear and all that. Now it's McCain. Hey we can use this if he's the republican canidate in 2008. :D He'll probably change his mind again of course.

when I see it. He did a pretty good job of straddling the fence on the "Talk Show Circuit" Sunday - so much so that he has pickets up his ass. He went on and on about how Bush's judges should be confirmed... how they're "good for America", but then in the same breath showed concern about the "nuclear option" because the Republicans may not always be the majority party. Maybe he is considering his vote... but it's not over concern for the "good of the country" its in concern for his Presidential bid in '08. He's a Bush sell out... and will do anything Bush tells him. I don't trust him.

23. If McCain sticks to his guns then there is still hope |
|
Hopefully, McCain won't change his mind and his opposition will give courage to some more of the not-so neo-con Repug Senators.
I bet with the latest poll numbers showing Bush and Congress dropping in popularity had do to something with McCain's decision. McCain is looking at the poll numbers and realizes that the Democrats could win back the Senate next year. Hence, his flip flop on this issue.

I just don't know about him. Mr. More Ethical Than Thou proved to us all, by his unadulterated support for * where he really stands. He's a repug. Never forget that. I can't believe he still has any credibility with Democrats. Duplicitous gamesmanship. I'd be surprised if he sides with the minority. It's all about POWER for him, and his ilk.
