Another reason to bust the EMPLOYERS of illegals - danger on the highways
Three crashes on I-10 near downtown Tucson due to rubber necking at handcuffed illegals.

http://www.dailystar.com/dailystar/news/69949.php

<snip> Drivers gawking at a group of 15 handcuffed illegal entrant suspects along the side of Interstate 10 on Monday morning caused three car crashes that shut down travel for about an hour near Downtown.

<snip> The rubbernecking mishaps happened after several U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents made a high-risk traffic stop on westbound I-10 near the Miracle Mile exit, just before 10 a.m., said Officer James Oien, an Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman.

<snip> After agents and officers handcuffed the suspected illegal entrants, the group sat on a dirt shoulder in the sun. They had been riding in the cab of the silver pickup while others were hidden under a piece of plywood that covered the bed.

<snip> Besides the people who were detained, about a dozen law enforcement vehicles were on the scene with their lights flashing, drawing the attention of morning motorists.

The coyotes (two legged variety) have had shoot outs on the roads in the past. Now, groups handcuffed and sitting on a very narrow shoulder of a heavily traveled shoulder gets the attention motorists should be giving their driving. It is getting very dangerous to go for a car ride in AZ. The return of Wild West conditions on today's streets and still no real progress in stopping illegal immigration.

Silly idea to consider:
How about trying to make roads in the Southwest less dangerous, help keep desperate job seekers from dying in the heat trying to cross Arizona, save some wear and tear on law enforcement/border patrol and start seriously busting the EMPLOYERS who hire illegals.

Knock off the silly stop-gap measures that do not dissuade illegals from taking their chances with Coyotes, the elements and the Border Patrol. Change the tactic which endangers workers in law enforcement, and everybody on the road when something goes down. Arrest & Prosecute the people profiting from the whole mess. Go after the employers and come down hard on them.

1. That plan is too direct and logical.
What, take away the major reason illegals cross the border? Too obvious and we don't want to hold b*sh's sponsors responsible. It's much easier to turn a blind eye and continue to get cheap labor at the expense of the middle class.

3. Because American drivers are too nosey to pay attention to the roads?
Come on. There are definitely reasons to go after the companies that employ illegals, but this isn't one of them.

4. There have also been shoot outs between coyotes hauling illegals
going down I 10. Gee, guess that's OK? Ever driven I10 through the Tucson/Phoenix area? It is narrow and heavily traveled. There have been some bad results of chases, arrests, shootouts along that route.

Travelers in the Southwest, including kids on school buses SHOULD NOT be in the line of fire. It is not just the idiots not paying attention to the car in front of them that is the problem. There IS a shooting war going on and the whole thing is NOT stopping the problem. It is putting a lot of innocent people, Americans & Mexicans at risk while the employers count their $$.

Nope, I really think this is a good way to get the soccer moms and the NASCAR dads to wake up and demand that enforcement be done where it will do the most good and the least harm. The government's pretense at taking action regarding the problem needs to be pointed out to more people. This is a good way to address that AND take action which actually will improve security in the area.

5. Ok, but that's not what the article you posted is about.
The article you posted is only about the accident from rubbernecking.
