The Daily Show sucked last night and tonight. Rant following... |
|
Bob Dole belch! The "independant" political writer! Gag me! Mc Cain is a fucking tool and Guilani is such slime! Fucking spare me if they are the answer to our problems!
The probelm with Democrats is not that we have "far lefties" running our party, the problem is that we have a bunch of fucking corporate sellouts purposely making our lives harder so they can get kick backs!
Damn, I love the Daily Show but tonight sucked. Stewart kissing up to Dole last night made my heart hurt.
I know that I will love the Daily Show tomorrow, how could I not, but tonight was way off.

1. They weren't the best shows |
|
I thought the Centrist guy was ok and had some laughs.
Tomorrow, Samatha Bee interviews Frank Luntz and that should be pretty funnny. They showed some clips and it was good.

5. Based on Samantha Bee's parts of that book . . . |
|
. . . how did they get Luntz to agree to see her. My God he must be desperate for face time. She wrote one of the best pro-Left and most cruel pro-Right parts of that book. I'll never forget that. It's in the bit where she explains Canada to Americans.

Bob Dole was on last night and he wasn't talking politics anyway, he was talking about his WWII experience.
Anyway today the interview was okay. Jon didn't do anything offensive. The guy they had on was pretty naive and kept saying the two parties were extreme but only offering Republican examples.
But watch it tonight. The first segment is EXTREMELY Funny! They have this great Ed Helms feature and he does a lot of fun stuff with John Bolton.

3. I just got a litlle bit of it tonight |
|
but what was that guy talking about? Something about the 'extremes' of both parties making the policies for the parties? When was the last time the left got any thing at all even considered in congress? NAFTA, welfare reform not our ideas. Universal healthcare is not even discussed. And McCain? Ugk. He's no moderate.
And last night too, very disappointing shows.

. . . I have not been consulted. There has not been one phone call to me from any capital, state or federal.

they don't even pick up the damned phone either! The old center is now the left, they up and moved all the markers and the real left is now just off altogether. That's the way it feels.

I thought the segment Ed Helms did on 'why do they hate us' was very funny |
|
The part where they showed 'how they see any video produced in America' versus 'how Americans see it' was hilarious.

9. To me, it just showed how far Repugs have fallen. |
|
Bob Dole at least showed some personal integrity. I could like Bob personally and eve respect his opinions, but still disagree with him politically.
The Shrub Regime, on the other hand, doesn't give one good god-damn about any of us. There is no way I can respect his opinion or any thing else about him.
This is what scares me.

I'm sure that The Daily Show has Bob Dole on because he is truly a very affible guy. He has a great sense of humor. I lived in Kansas in the eighties and nineties. I never voted for Dole, but he has always had a reputation of practicing comity on the Senate floor. The people who know him, conservatives and liberals alike all have high respect for him.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a liberal. Dole and I don't see eye to eye politically. But the man is honest. People like him. That alone is a good reason to have him on The Daily Show. Too bad I can't watch it tonight. I like him, too.

12. Dole sure came out and lied right along with the Swift boat losers... |
|
sorry but he tows the party line, just ask his wife who had no problems saying that Kerry was "the most liberal senator" over and fucking over.
I USED to respect Dole, I USED to think he was honest, I USED to like the man, but last year changed everything. If he is willing to lie to protect those monsters in the WH then he is no friend of mine!

11. i couldnt watch the dole interview. |
|
had to switch to another channel until it was over.
as i said in another post on this. the centralist, being central, should have been pulling names from both sides equally, but all the names he chose were repugs. though i think what he said was good in a lot of ways and didnt particularly have issue. i wish they wouldnt spend so much time saying both parties when obviously the right has run wild. even the extremist on the left, cant compare

Interview was so-so - guy was pretty naive and one of those "pox on both your houses"-pundits, but Jon was pretty funny throughout.
And the opening segments were hilarious! Some of the best in weeks. The Ed Helms segment was fantastic - I was rolling on the floor laughing at the "how the Muslim world views any American video"-part. And the John Bolton stuff was pretty funny too.

I hope tomorrow kicks ass, Thursday shows usually do.
Go figure that the "independant" writer works for Guliani.
