Another $82 bil for Iraq courtesy of war enablers in the Senate- Our money
Borrowed money. Over 40% of our national debt foreign owned. China, Saudi Arabia . . . government's borrowing limit raised to $8.18 trillion . . . $6.6 trillion debt . . . $1.3 trillion in deficits forecast over the next decade . . .

Not to mention the ridiculous argument that we have to stay to 'help' the Iraqis transition to 'democracy', and all of the other ignorant excuses for our continued occupation and continued control of the resources there. Say . . . where did all of that oil money go? What about the assets we seized? For that matter, what about an accounting of the billions spent in Iraq and Afghanistan with those other 'emergency' appropriation bills that were shoved down our throats?

Unfortunately, this isn't the worst of it. Because this Congress bent over for Bush's weak, shifting justification for this invasion and occupation, they probably secretly fear the prospect of Bush with his hands on 100's of thousands of freed up troops to redeploy to adventures in Iran, Syria, wherever else they smell money. All of our hard earned contributions to government squandered and gambled away by these mercenary, corporatist republicans (and sadly, some Democrats).

If you have time today (and I guess tomorrow), tune in to the 'debate' and watch your Senators play craps with our money and our soldier's lives:

2. On the Randi Rhodes show yesterday
she let me know that part of the appropriation of that emergency spending bill gives money for a new babeball stadium in DC (yes, on the taxpayers buck) I wonder what the other owners of the league think of that since they had to pay for their own stadiums.
