Another coalition partner paying the political price?
http://news.scotsman.com/latest.cfm?id=4408084

Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi clung to power in the midst of the worst political turmoil in his four years in office, saying only that he was weighing his next moves after two small centrist parties said they were pulling out of his government.

Berlusconi’s popularity is fading amid concerns over a weak economy and Italy’s continued presence in Iraq, and his conservative coalition suffered a stinging defeat in regional elections two weeks ago.

2. Berlusconi is in deep. He will lose power for his loyalty to the BFEE.
Unless they buy new voting machines. But, the way the European media works, the public probably won't buy that Berlusconi managed to win. The US press worked overtime to protect Bush's image as popular war president, to make his win plausible.

3. Why am I not surprised?
The Italians hate us, the world hates us. Ally yourself with the Chimperor & you're going down. We can only hope that Blair is next.
