CNN: Bankruptcy bill leaves little for family - (VIDEO)

Video - CNN: Bankruptcy bill leaves little for family

CNN gives financial tips about the bankruptcy bill that will soon be signed into law by Bush. I wanted to share this because it shows that the bill is a gift to the credit card companies and a hardship on average people.

Daryn Kagan and Jerry Willis discuss why the new bankruptcy bill is bad for you.

1. Over 50% of personal bankruptcies are because of medical bills.....
This bill totally ignores that.

2. Absolutely Prince!
And the vast majority of the rest are caused by some other financial crisis -- a lost job, a house burning down, etc. Less than 5 percent of bankruptcies are from people who have abused credit just for the greed of it.

(OT: Where in WV are you? I was raised in the Fairmont area, and now live in DC.)

I was born and raised in Elkins, but now I'm living in Morgantown. I'm sure you don't miss Fairmont too much living in DC. I'm happy you have the fortitude to live there. I was working in Manassas recently, and I couldn't wait to get back to the mountains. The traffic is crushing, and the cost of living is too high for this guy.

4. Thanks
For me, it was a matter of needing to be employed after getting my degree -- not too many journalism jobs that pay a living wage in the Mountain State. But that was more than 10 years ago, and quality of life in DC area has just gone so far downhill. It's not so bad in my nice little neighborhood in the city, but driving anywhere is hell. I'm hoping to leave within 5-10 years, but my fiancee's career options are so limited outside DC. Keep your fingers crossed!

:hi:

6. Yep
If they told before maybe people could've Emailed their reps and knew about it. :(
