Coulter falsely blamed Arizona Co Atty for dropping charges in pie case |
|
http://mediamatters.org/items/200504200006Coulter falsely blamed Arizona county attorney for dropping charges in pie-throwing caseRight-wing pundit Ann Coulter falsely accused an Arizona county attorney of anti-conservative bias for dismissing charges against two men who allegedly threw pies at her during an October 2004 speech. In fact, the blame lies with Coulter herself; the charges were dropped becuase neither she nor the arresting officer appeared for the scheduled trial.
Coulter attacked Pima County Attorney Barbara LaWall for allowing the charges against her alleged attackers to be dropped, claiming that LaWall did so because the accused men were liberals.
From Coulter's April 14 nationally syndicated column:
Then on March 19, all charges were dismissed against the "Deliverance" boys -- including a felony charge for $3,000 worth of damage to school property. Inexplicably, this outcome did not instantly lead to widespread rioting and looting in South Central Los Angeles.
Democrat Barbara LaWall is the Pima County attorney who allowed the liberal debate champions to walk. LaWall brags on her website about "holding criminals accountable." She didn't say anything about liberals, however. Be forewarned, conservatives: Do not expect the law to protect you in Pima County.
In fact, the Arizona Daily Star reported on April 16 that it was not LaWall but Coulter who was ultimately responsible for the charges being dropped, as she and the arresting officer failed to appear for the March 18 trial date, despite repeated reminders. The Daily Star also reported that the court dismissed the charges with the understanding that they could be refiled, which the county attorney's office intends to do.<<<more>>

2. How could pies possibly cause $3,000 damage to school property? |
|
I don't think throwing pies at idiots like Ann Coulter helps our cause, but seriously, $3,000 worth of property damage?

Well you're not running for a damn thing and couldn't be elected dog catcher in the reddest part of the reddest state so why would we need any kind of strategy against you!

7. I think that Ann Coulter has some kind of mental illness.. |

like a personality disorder. I deal with someone with a dxd personality disorder on a regular basis. She acts in many ways like Ann Coulter. In this instance, it's the idea that she thinks she's entitled to have her case treated differently than anybody else. Everybody knows that if the issuing officer doesn't show up for parking ticket case, the charges are dismissed. Ditto for any case involving a complaining witness. In nearly all instances I can think of if a living, breathing complaining witness can't be bothered to show up, the charges are dismissed. The other similarity I see is the emphasis by Coulter on her physical looks. The person I deal with is preoccupied with her looks and is always comparing herself to strangers she sees on the street. Anyone with an extra pound or two is a "fattie." The person I deal with spends a fortune on botox treatments, anti-aging treatments and the like. I've seen interviews and read things by Coulter that are nearly identical to what comes out of the mouth of the mentally ill person I deal with regularly. Maybe the Pima County DA can order a psychiatric exam for Coulter? Not likely, I know; but the prospect is entertaining.

I'm convinced she has a mental disease. I too would like to see a psychiatric exam on that piece of work.
