What I understand is that the feul is super heated thus changing it to a methonal-type substance. At least I think that's what this thing does. What do you think?

On edit, after reading on more of this guys story, he sounds more of a crackpot. Sorry. Read for your amusement, though. Pity, the gadget sounded as if it may work.

1. 113 MPG is easily achieved. In fact, 150 MPG is here
and has been since the 60s. It's called a moped.

My other car is an electric moped that draws 24 watts at full charge and is fun to ride, much nicer than wrestling with my old truck.

2. Cool story
but yeah, I think he is a nutjob.

Before he developed his first automotive fuel vaporization device, however, he tried out the idea on a fuel oil heating system in an apartment building he had bought. He was paying $500 per week to heat the 21 units of his building during heating season and he wanted to cut his heating costs. He rigged up a vaporization system for the furnace that worked very well at first and reduced his bill to $100 per week. Unfortunately, it failed disastrously and there was a fire. Al was burned over 70% of his body in this incident and one of the apartments he used to locate the fuel device was damaged.

snip--
A newspaper reporter began to secretly follow Al on his daily commutes to and from his work at Weatherall Energy Research and Development, the successor to Debal Heating & Air Conditioning. It was being temporarily operated by his wife, Deb, and a friend. The mom & pop Deb & Al heating and cooling business had developed a larger vision. The reporter wanted to verify the claims Al was making about mileage and when he did not see him stop for gas for an entire month, he showed up at the work release facility asking to interview Allen Caggiano. The warden was outraged. Al was again breaking the rules by engaging in business of his own, which was not permitted according to the terms of his work release. The warden was shy of publicity of any kind and told Al that if he did not lie to the reporter and confess that he was siphoning gas from other vehicles in the parking lot at night, Al would spend the rest of his term behind bars in Walpole. Al lied.

3. Interesting stuff
Though he does sound like he spends much of his time looking out the window for black helicoptors.

I posted a link to this thread in the Automotive Group, to get the gearhead take on this.

I don't doubt the technology exists for this kind of performance from gas engines, but this guy seems a bit out there.

Thanks for the link.

5. Yeah. I was fascinated by all the technical drawings.
The part that lost me was when all the doctors and nurses tried to kill him, tried to put him in a coma, all working for the oil company, sliced him up by letting an exchange 'Sargent from China' cut him in two, etc.... Maybe he started out sane, but he's sure basket-weaving material now!

4. Greyhound had and engine in 1959, diesel, at 59MPG
On a big old bus. Grey Hound tried for three years to get one of the big 3 makers to produce it and nobody would (same investors in oil as car makers). Finally they produced 300 engines themselves ran it for about a year and decided it was more expensive to build a small number of engines (no mass production advantage) than it was to just pay the oil companies. GH decided to sell the patent to I think it was FORD were they stuck in their safe were it still sits today. Folks we don't have supply and demand, we have totally controlled markets.

No surprise there. That's what I've been saying. If we could build engines that got 59 MPG in 1959 we could build engines that get over 100 MPG today. There are a ton of examples, gilet could make a razor for about ten cents that would last supposedly a life time, the first light bulb made by con-ed is still burning for over 100 years and is expected to go for about fifty more years and is displayed at a factory with a plaque in New Jersey, etc. etc. etc. So the question is WHY AREN'T WE IN THE ENGINE BUSINESS?

If they won't do it we should do it. We can do IPO's nearly as easy as they can. We've got a ton of green investors with billions. All the problems of the world could be solved if WE just did it instead of sitting around bitching about Corporations or trying to talk them into doing something about it. It is particularly silly when you realize WE could fix virtually every great problem of the world if we just got of our butts and did it. Anyone know about the Howard Ruff hydrogen story? Mostly people don't believe it unless MSM tells them it is so. And not just regular Americans, DUers too. We aren't doing what needs to be done to save our mother. We're just pretending. I come out of the Rainbow mold of folks and there are actually people there that hate me for bringing it to their attention that we should just get about the task of fixing it, OURSELVES. Just like here (DU) I think there's folks here that believe I'm a freeper cause I say WE should fix elections with initiatives. Particularly when I further demo it that we are the only ones that could or would. But NOOOO.. You want to write litters to the editor and congreesman or how about KICK IT. I did my part. Most of you want to just sit back and wait for the legislatures to do it, OR if the MSM would just tell the story.. and on and on with the pathetic excuses.

I continue to ask... If your mother was disabled had dingle berries on her butt and couldn't clean them off herself would you help her. So far the answer has been NO. Sorry about the rant, I'm just getting a bit frustrated with our alleged efforts. People, these aren't flames they are observations.

You're right, they're nose pickers for the most part.
