Gannon SUNDAY visits to White House???
Edited on Sun Apr-24-05 11:24 PM by Terre
I didn't want to search through all the threads that I'm sure have popped up, but has anyone noticed that on 3 occasions he visited on a Sunday? I just mentioned this on a thread at dKos.

I may be naive, but what business gets conducted on Sundays? - No wise cracks, ok? ROFL

Sunday 06/22/03 3:32 - 4:49 (no briefing)
Sunday 07/27/03 3:08 - 5:24 (no briefing)
Sunday 12/07/03 3:25 No Exit (entry via A4 HC Entry Lane) (no briefing)

edited to add: And why would he be there on Election Day?

Tuesday 11/02/04 1:31 - 2:20 (no briefing)

7. I'm sorry
did I offend? It wasn't meant to.

Considering his real profession, I just wanted to make the point that Sunday is not the day you'd carry out "normal business".

My apologies.

About sourcing us, but they keep calling us a blog. I think everyone who is an indie journo or writer is a blog, person or publication, alike:)

very cool, and thanks for sharing... how do you find this stuff? i googled myself once and the list freaked me out... there was far too much freeper stuff against me... never googled again and now don't look to see if raw is listed. would be fun though to see just where we end up, or me anyway, but as I have said, not worth reading the ugly blogs.

18. Monday, January 14, 2002 - Pretzelgate - Where was Jimmy Jeff?
Edited on Sun Apr-24-05 11:27 PM by Steve_DeShazer

US President George W Bush said he felt "great" on Monday, despite having fainted and fallen from a couch after choking on a pretzel over the weekend.

Sporting an angry red bruise on his cheek, the president joked with reporters about the incident as he left the White House on a two-day tour of the Mid-West.

"My mother always said when you're eating pretzels, chew before you swallow," he said before boarding a helicopter to Illinois.

Keeping conservatives from falling head-first into a pit of denial, disingenuousness and deceit is a full-time, sisyphean task. But, hey, I'm back from vacation, tanned and rested. So here goes.

When I popped open my in box this morning I found a slew of emails from various and sundry right-wing yahoos alerting me to this article in the National Review Online, which ostensibly puts to rest the whole matter of the Texas DPS manhunt Homeland Security story.

I just re-read the Rice piece in the Post again and it's really pretty devastating. You read it and it's hard not to come to the conclusion that Rice is either really incompetent or really ... well, less than honest in a few of the answers she's given on the Niger debacle. Or maybe it's fifty-fifty? In any case, it ain't good.

James Risen's got an interesting piece in the Times on rogue -- or not-so-rogue -- operations run out of Doug Feith's office at the Pentagon -- particularly, meetings last year with Iran-Contra luminary Manucher Ghorbanifar. When reading that piece, read it along with this piece from the New York Sun from a few days ago by Eli Lake, which covers another angle on the story.

And another thing: make a note for future reference about where that first meeting took place.

We'll be reporting much more on this in the coming days. But I just wanted to start off this afternoon by saying that I think James Baker's appointment as

President Bush's envoy for settling Iraq's foreign debt issues is a much bigger deal than it seems. Much bigger.

My point isn't that there's anything hidden or conspiratorial about it per se. It's just that cutting the deals surrounding the debt issue is central to much of what happens in Iraq next year. And much of what happens in Iraq period.

June 23, 2003 - Jeff Gannon registers as a user with FreeRepublic.com (originally registered on January 19, 2003 as "The Conservative Guy", but only posted twice)

46. Where are the early Woodward & Bernstein when you need them?
Good journalists need to get answers to the questions raised about what he was doing there.

Only then will the story have "legs"--if it gets them at all.

Until then anything that's said about the "why" of the visits will be criticized as tinfoil hattism.

47. 2003 and 2004 White House Press Christmas Parties
Can anyone look the dates up and compare to logs?

Remember JJGG attended the invitation-only White House press Christmas parties in 2003 and 2004 (bragged about it).

Gee, there sure was a timeline established for Monica at a Christmas party:

Dec. 5: Jones's attorneys name Lewinsky as potential witness. Lewinsky exchanges words with Clinton at White House Christmas party and drafts a letter to him, saying she had more gifts for him.

it needs to be connected to W or one of the other main players... Monica was connected to Bill and of course, there was some woman with a tape recorder on hand....

Clearly, a male DUer has to hire Jimi/Jeff and bring a long a recording device... (didn't want to say Dictaphone there....) ;-)

65. Yes, and the sex angle can also serve as a useful distraction
from the REAL role he has played. It may even have been set up that way. We need to trace what he did, and with whom, and NOT be blinded by looking for only sexual titillation. This man was clearly an agent of some kind - he knew about the Iran invasion before it happened, he was in on the Plame outing, and he had amazing and prolonged access to the highest levels despite his faux background and reputation as a gay hooker.

WAS he even a gay hooker? He had those sites, but without confirmation that he actually did sex for money, that may have been a blind. Or he may be intimate with someone in the WH - but if so, it's only PART of the issue and perhaps not the most important part.

I also am disturbed by some of the posts about the sex angle, the ones with what looks to me like homophobia in there along with the JimmyJeff speculations.

70. Sometimes I think people just don't know how to talk about
these issues. They were calling him a "gay prostitute" before they even knew if he was gay. What they knew at that point was that he offered serviced to men, period.

To me it looks in general more like clumsiness than homophobia. Some coaching is certainly in order.

clumsiness. I would like to see some kind of "Idiot's Guide To Interacting Comfortably With Gays." There's bound to have been something like that written, lots of times. I wonder if there an archived thread in the GLBT Forum on this.

I do wonder if "Gannon" is actually gay. There was that emphatic statement on his escort ads that he is ONLY a top. It would be ironic if not only is he a fake journalist and a fake marine, he's a fake gay.
