10. it's a modification of the concept of "self-defense" |
|
to spell out that you don't have to "retreat" to invoke the "self-defense" claim. previously, this argument only worked if you were in your home.
now, in other words, you can point your gun at someone in the middle of town, and toss another one on the ground near him and say "pick it up." "put i don't wanna, mister" "pick it up!" "you'll shoot me, mister, i don't want no trouble" "pick it up!" and then when he goes for the gun, you can shoot him.
and that's what the CULTURE OF LIFE is all about!

12. you know, the dynamics of what you have just described sounds so much of |
|
something so true and so typical from the SOUTH of the past.
then you wonder, (i do), with these MAINE/CONNECTICUT born and raised bushes, what's with them and the law of the shoot'em up?
then i wonder again, is this sort of what has dynamically been done to them by their own parents?
babs was abused as a child growing up by her parents, and she has admitted to spanking the bushes--and who knows what else, and george herbert walker, bush's great grandfather was a rough man who would rough up his own sons...
and now, we, an entire society--not to mention an entire world, are paying the price for the goonish ways in which these bushes were raised.
why is it that instead of feeling freer and more secure, i feel more threatened and less secure?

11. the common law of self defense |
|
is usually that you must exhaust all other options before responding violently, including making all possible efforts to escape the situation. There is usually an exception for intruders in your own home, because there is nowhere to escape to during a home invasion.
This sounds like a pretty serious departure from common law tradition.

7. well, considering stranger on stranger crime combined with deadly assault |
|
is almost non-existent, it's just an appeasement to the NRA crowd.

8. Jeb returned from kissing the Papal ring with renewed 'love for life' |
|
and distain for our system of law.
This is very, very scary. Notice how there seems to be a 'freedom from prosecution' theme with these people AND that it follows on the tail of the repubs condoning threats against judges (we can see how people would be upset at judges) from a few weeks ago.
This has gone past the demonization of 'trial lawyers' - they are flat out bent on choking the judiciary to death.
