7. It could be worse... As I was driving back to work from the Social Secur. |
|
Protest, there was a giant labor dispute taking place just down the street, on of those "Shame on so and so" drove by to quickly to see who was ripping off workers so missed the "who." People are getting fed up with slavery and carrying all the burden while the rich and corporate slobs just keep taking more and more. It is going to erupt one of these days soon. Not going to be pretty. America is not at rest. Civil unrest going to be more and more common place.

sometimes, I'm not vocal enough except on issues I feel strongly about. At this time, it's not about all the Schiavo/Christian/Catholic/2008 pres election stuff.
For the most part it's about the people of this land and the voices that most elected officials are not hearing.

filibuster...just open an account as a bail trust fund LOL... never done this kind of thing. Don't want anyone to just take advantage of anyone. PD's represent those who cannot afford an attorney as it is in the constitution, but I've seen how they work. Overburdened and mainly just plea agreements the first time they meet the defendant. We need to interest someone like a Larry Kazan or top crim person in AZ and in ea. state.

30. I Know How Unpatriotic It Is |
|
I've read patriot acts 1,2, and 3, (called something else), and I totally oppose them. Removing our civil liberties does not make us safer, it endangers America. Under the (un)patriot acts and homeland (in)security, a legal defense fund may be useless. Hitler's Enabling Act after the "mysterious" Reichstag Fire is nearly identical to Bush's Patriot Acts after 9-11. I'm appalled this country is so oblivious...

A defense legal fund is a great idea, but with the mass corruption within our gvt., it could be a complete waste of time and money. I know a Grandmother who paid $5,000 to bail an innocent suspect out of jail, the prosecutors signed the bond, the bailbondsman took the money, the suspect never left his cell, the prosecutors added new charges and the bail was raised to $2,000,000, cash only. The bondsman refused to refund the money, but after years of legal battles, did refund HALF of the money to the Grandmother. The suspect never received a fair trial but rather a corrupt mockery of justice wrongful conviction, has appealed, it was denied, appealed again, and is still languishing in a filthy prison, nine years after his arrest, waiting for word on his last appeal.
