ACLU has intervened in the case of the 13 year old girl and abortion.

-- The complicated case of a pregnant 13-year-old girl who wants an abortion is on hold while a judge decides if a Supreme Court decision trumps laws regulating Department of Children and Family.

The girl, known only as "LG" in court files, is a foster child under the care of the DCF. LG lives in a shelter for abused and neglected teens. She found out about two weeks ago that she is pregnant, and she told her DCF caseworker that she wants an abortion.

According to an appeal filed by the American Civil Liberties Union, the girl's caseworker scheduled an appointment for LG to get an abortion on Tuesday. That same day, the DCF filed an emergency motion to stop the abortion from taking place.

A judge agreed to delay the abortion until LG underwent a psychological and physical evaluation.

Wednesday, the ACLU and the Legal Aid Society appealed that decision, saying neither the court nor DCF has a right to interfere."

with the abortion. If she does not get the abortion then the GOP wingnuts will complain about feeding, housing, and medicating the baby for 18 years then incarcerating him/her for 20 only to kill him/her with capitol punishment.

and that the girl should be able to get an abortion. But knowing this is FL, I bet ol' Jebbie will be there to make sure the girl is forced to carry the baby, whether she likes it or not. Of course, once the baby's here, Jeb and his kind could care less what happens to it.....
