Is it just me, or is Hillary alittle scarce at the mo |
|
It just seems like so many of the Dems are on high alert. Even smarmy Biden is stepping up to the plate and fighting. But it just occurred to me today that Hillary is awfully quiet. I haven't heard of a speech she's given in a while. I went to her Senate site. It looks like she's gotten some decent things done, but then there were more than a few press releases that were simply what I would call "pork" announcements. Money for a stadium, money for this or that project.
It makes me wonder what the game is.
Or have I missed something?

besides, the last thing we would want to see now is for her to lead the way on something or take a primary role on an issue - nothing the repubs would like more than to have that (read: her) as a focal point to rally themselves against . . .

I don't think she's running for president in 2008. She's too quiet for the most part. She's not out there like Kerry, Edwards and even Clark has popped up a little more then she has.

4. Why insert herself into THIS third rail debate? |
|
She is smart not to give them footage that they can wrap around her neck, should she decide to go forward in 08.

5. But if all the Dems felt that way, nobody would be fighting the agenda |
|
Aren't they all risking having something wrapped around their necks?
That said, as polarizing as she is, it is indeed probably a good idea she doesn't insert herself into the debate and give the Repubs ammo.

7. There are some that can quite safely, so do |
|
For example, my Senator, Ted Kennedy, could go on TV and say damn near ANYTHING while screwing a supermodel and get reelected. His seat is so safe they've bronzed it to his ass, and the folks that vote for him KNOW he is on the side of the people, not the corporations. Hillary hasn't reached that point yet, where she does not even have to campaign, even for her senate seat. And if she goes on to do the 08 thing, why have her on tape, where it can be used out of context?
There are plenty of D's out there on this issue already. Howard Dean picked them, I suspect. They are for the most part friendly, sorta known, pleasant looking, non-lightning rod types.
