The Republican Party keeps their "gays" hidden from the public...
And that says a lot about their Party. Yes, the Democrats have Barney Frank and he does not hide the fact he is a gay. And it does not keep him from getting re-elected. But nowadays, if a Republican was as open as Barney Frank, they would not be in power very long. Just one slight difference in the Parties, I suppose?

1. Isn't There A Gay Arizona Congressman?
I forget the name...whose either been outed or came out and didn't deny it. Of course he's rare...and this board is rife constantly about who is gay and who isn't. Personally, I don't care...it's not their sexuality, it's their politics. I've met enough Repugnican gays who put their greed and self-interests ahead of their lifestyle...just as we see blacks and Hispanics and other groups. I look at the person, not the label.

2. It's the hypocrisy.
Arthur Finkelstein has just launched the "Stop Hillary Now" campaign.

Yet, he recently married his partner of 40 years, and was quoted as saying, "I believe that visitation rights, health care benefits and other human relationship contracts that are taken for granted by all married people should be available to partners."

That's the kind of stuff that makes me :banghead:

3. It Doesn't To Me
Again, people are people. Just because he's a gay man doesn't mean he immediately associates with gay issues (and I was forcefully told this by a gay man on another board)...this is all about greed and power.

Many inside the beltway knew J. Edgar Hoover was gay and were scared to talk about it since they feared his power. I'd say Finkelstein is in a similar situation within his peers who all draw their money and power from him and visa versa.

The man I debate with is quite revealing as he's proud of being gay and won't hesitate to try to call me a "breeder" or "sperm donor", but he's more proud of his high paying job, 3 months of vacation, nice Manhattan digs and his life has gotten better by this regime. Selfish is what selfish is.

6. Drier (R) from so cal............he is an "open" secret......
everybody who is breathing and paying attention knows his closet scene, living with a longterm BF...keeps getting relected tho, cuz he is one of the GOP poster boys. Maybe we can get James DOBSON to get all phony self righteous over Drier. But both are repubs.
