What if his Chimperial Majesty extends his term 2 more years? |
|
You can be president for 10 years right? So what if the Repukes increase their dominance of all three branches of gov't and change the rules to extend Georgie Porgie's stay at the White House? Say there is a "terrorist attack" and they say we can't change presidents during this difficult time for the country because we are at war on a second front?
Sounds outrageous but what haven't the facists tried so far? How far are they willing to go to keep power if they don't have a sure candidate and paper ballot prints are forced?

1. It is something I expect to happen |
|
These people are vicious animals, they will not let go of the reigns of power that they do not deserve to have.

I'm just not sure how far their evil extends. I suppose it depends on what their polls tell them the American people will allow to happen. :)

3. I'm pretty sure that would require |
|
a Constitutional Amendment, no?
If that's the case, they would have to have started this process on or before 9/11.

6. It became 10 years after FDR got a 3rd term. |
|
Repukes were furious and didn't want this to occur again so they pushed for term limits. George Washington having set the standard at 2 terms.
If a Vice President becomes president up to 1/2 way through a term due to an unfortunate event or resignation he can serve 2 full terms afterward. Like Gerald Ford could have served 2 full terms after serving the end of Nixon's term. Now can the Repukes misconstrue the 10 years to their liking?

8. It seems rather doubtful... |
|
After all, elections went on even while the Civil War was still raging.
But Lincoln was a better man than Bush, and modern Republicans are on a power trip. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if they tried to extend the chimp's reign, by hook or by crook.
