WARNING: This is not a Dem bashing thread: VERY BAD day in Iraq
Chaos is starting to take hold over there. Troops are on edge and the place is falling into a world of hurt. Nevermind all that, (insert Dem Candidate) is a terrible person because (insert whatever dirt you found on a pro-republican webstie).

http://msnbc.com/news/870749.asp?0cv=CB10

KHALDIYAH, Iraq, Sept. 18 — Guerrillas ambushed a U.S. military convoy Thursday with a remote-controlled bomb, sparking a heavy gunbattle in which a 3-year-old boy was wounded in the chest and two trucks were destroyed. Two American soldiers were wounded, the U.S. military said in Baghdad, although it was not immediately known if the casualties were from the ambush or a later attack several miles away.

IN THE NEARBY town of Fallujah, witnesses said an American patrol opened fire on a wedding, killing a 14-year-old boy, after mistaking celebratory gunfire for an attack.

Can we get our troops out of there already?

17. Completed.
Haven't visited.

I'm a transplant from the Pittsburgh suburbs.

Worked in Brecksville in the mid 80s, thought the world ended just past the Richfield Dairy Queen, until you hit the Summit Mall.

Til I met my future wife.

5. they're still not coming clean about what happened there this afternoon
I still suspect we lost about 8 troops, but they're very tight lipped about this incident. Every news source outside of america is reporting 8.

15. that's because it would be admitting to 11 dead ? wounded

there were TWO attacks. they admit to the one where three were killed. and while they show the burning vehicles, they say NOTHING (CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC - that I've heard tonight) about even the WOUNDED from that attack...

even with HURRICANE FORCE distraction today, they CAN'T admit to that one. (gonna be another run of 'accidents' over the weekend)

18. When the Khaldiyah attack first popped up
...one of the photos at Yahoo was of a decapitated and charred body lying on the ground, with a U.S. soldier standing near. Now I can't find that photo. This is the attack the military is claiming had only two injuries and no deaths. Something's not right.

9. Same thing that was done during Viet Nam,
(and that I wish I had been old enough to do, but I was born in '65), protest, protest, protest, in every way and form and place you can think of, keep the politician's feet to the fire, and educate as many people as you can!
