Will there be war against Iran now?! (Dick Morris is advertising for it.)
In a remarkably decent O'Reilly interview of Dick Morris, Morris candidly stated that if Bush went to war with Iran it would be a brilliant political move. According to Morris it would take the focus off of Iraq, and judging from my own experience and from history, he's RIGHT.

The American people will fall for the same crap again and again. Vietnam. Iraq. When Bush starts calling for war against Iran, they'll be saying about Iraq "that was yesterday."

3. How so?
It's easier to feel smug and support fascism than to trouble yourself and speak out against it. America will fall for it, I predict.

6. Who's feeling smug and supporting fascism?
How long do you believe the American public will support an Iran war, especially if Bush does it unilaterally?

2. The Bush/Reagan people have a long history of starting wars to distract
us from their domestic policies like raising taxes and debt on the middle class and lots of welfare handouts to corporations and rich people.

4. need another division
It certainly would divert attention, afterall who can resist all the red white and boom. However I do not see how it is physically possible or politically beneficial. In order to take on Iran in a manner similar to Iraq, the US would almost certainly have to start a draft because the military is already overextended. Starting a draft in the year before an election would be political suicide especially since nobody would give him the benefit of the doubt on any intelligence he might use to justify such an attack.

5. There's no way we can start a war in Iran without
reinstating the draft. We don't have the forces ... and we all know that Freepers love to start wars against brown people, except when it's their lives (or their children's lives) that are on the line. Bush* would be finished.

7. I don't
know how in the hell we could afford a new war. But I feel pretty sure the NeoCons in the Bush Administration are plotting away at the prospects. Something's got to happen with Chimpy's ratings falling like so.

9. I don't see it happening....
1) Americans probably aren't willing to accept the ~1500-3000 US casualties such a war (and subsequent occupation) would entail. Would probably require a draft, as others have stated above.

2) While Iran has certainly supported terrorism in the Middle East before, there is no link between 9/11 and Iran - most Americans are just now beginning to realize how tenuous the rationale for the Iraq war was.

3) Doubtful even the UK would be on board for this one.

4) Would bring about a catastrophic escalation of terrorism in Israel/Palestine (see #2).

5) Might destabilize Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, where we have oil/gas interests (there are more ethnic Azeris living in NW Iran than in Azerbaijan).

6) Per #5, might re-ignite Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, which would give Russia the opportunity for regional mischief like it caused during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

I'm not sure what the best solution to Iran's nuclear posturing is, but a unilateral American invasion sure isn't it...

14. Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like the "posturing" comment! Also, Islamist militants from Iran have been a difficultly in N Iraq for quite some time, long before this illegal war.

10. I heard him saying this earlier today on fox and my jaw dropped
open. Consider what he's suggesting - that we go to war to prop up Bush's poll numbers!

Not only that, the Iranian army is in a lot better shape than the Iraqi army.

He also said that you can take the fact that Hillary is going to run for President to the bank.

Toe-sucking freak.

19. You took my words
This is the nuttiest thing I've heard in a while and with the Bushies, that's saying ALOT! If they even tried to start another war right now, this country would totally come unhinged!

12. No can do. The Iranians are certainly enjoying mocking Bush Co but
Bush Co can't do diddly b/c one word from the mullahs in Iran and it'll be a bloody hell uprising in Southern Iraq. Can you say jihad!?!
Did you happen to see the funeral procession of the slain cleric in Najaf? The one who was in exile in Iran for 20 yrs. Bush Co made there slimey bed and true to form, the hierarchy of Iran are more than giddy about using them for the fools that they are. It's a comedy of errors in a disturbingly comical play.
UN back up isn't going to help with this one.

15. Ok then get ready for World War 3.
Russian, China, and North Korea all have interests in Iran and will directly aid Iran in a war against America. Plus, Iran will launch all of it's new Shahab 3 missles against U.S. oilfields in Saudi Arabia and at Israel.

17. Morris has a long track record of stupid ideas.
Even if they institute a draft, it will take a long time,
like maybe a year, to get more troops on line. And there are
other logistics issues besides troops.

20. Today I saw a whole segment on FOX
about Iran's nuclear build-up. I smell American imperialism cooking.

Mark my words. Bush WILL go to war with Iran. If he gets re-elected there is no chance in hell he's going to miss out on the opportunity.

Wolf is already advertising for a war against Iran. Not surprising for the Jewish neoconservative party-traitor fanatic he is.
