When will AWOL reduce retirement checks for Military and Civil Service ret |
|
Under AWOL, unemployment booms and deficits skyrocket. Medicare and Social Security are threatened. Veterans’ benefits have been curtailed.
So when will the Republicans propose that Cost Of Living Allowances (COLA) be reduced or postponed for those who have retired from the military and civil service?

1. There aren't supposed to be any military or civil service jobs left. |
|
<exaggeration> Rummy is trying to privatize all military support positions, cutting the military # by doing this, and companies have to compete for who will do the worst job.<sarcasm, but facts right>
AD military: trying to cut hazardous duty pay (combat pay)
Civil service: supposed to bid to compete for doing the same job they have been doing effectively with firms who claim to be able to do a better job. One contract given out: it turns out that awarding the contract to a company was WRONG. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO THE CIVIL SERVICE!!
Hey, if Bush can get away with cutting two whole categories of vets off the rolls, and cutting service and increasing waiting lines to the rest of the vets, why can't he get away with cutting COLA's, etc. on civil servants and military. After all, everyone knows they're only important if they serve the photo-op.
