What the hell has happened the the concept of a political DEBATE?! |
|
Lately they look more like episodes of the dating game or a well dressed episode of Springer.
Another thing...Why in the hell do Democrats keep having to play against their opponant AS WELL AS the Repuke Moderators that keep popping up?!
Who sets this crap up? Rupert Murdoch??

and an unusual one at that. There's a fine line to draw between taking a swat at one's opponents and doing what's right for the pack (or pride). At this point, dominance of the pack and/or pride is at stake, so the way I look at it, expect to see a lot more of this as January looms.
Having Republicans (e.g. the competing pack) moderate is another matter- that bit I don't quite understand. Seeing as how we have all let ourselves become outsiders, perhaps that was our due. Perhaps it's even to our advantage to play on some of their sets for the time being. That remains to be seen. Certainly, no other Dem or Green should ever EVER agree to another debate with Stathom, but that's our candidates' choice, not ours. If there's anything Howard Dean has proven is that we can and I believe that we will win without K street, without associtions of broadcasters, and without revolving door consultants.
I know. I sound idealistic and
of all people, I hate to be trite, but it really is a matter of mousepads, shoe "leather" and hope. Pass it on. Pay a forward.
There's no other tactic that can counteract the far right's inch deep and mile wide hold on American society.

90% of Americans don't want to hear a debate get much more in depth than a Jerry Springer show. Very few people today want to think that hard or try to see something that doesn't smack them in the face.
All people care about now is stupid catch phrases and sound bites. We are too lazy of a society to dig deep into stuff. A lot of Americans feel that's the job of the "analysts." Therefore they take the "analysts" word to explain to them what they just saw. It's really sad. Especially since most of those "analysts" are deliberately deceiving them.
We live in the perfect society to get duped by these evil fucks. Just like Germany before WWII.

it would go a long way toward seperating the wheat from the chaff. I don't think many of them would agree to it. Too dangerous.
