In the Washington Post (
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A17129-2003Sep29.html), Ambassador Wilson said in August at a forum held by Rep. Jay Inslee (D.-Wash):
"I don't think we're going to let this drop. At the end of the day it's of keen interest to me to see whether or not we can get
Karl Rove frog-marched out of the White House in handcuffs.
And trust me when I use that name. I measure my words."
Combine this with the now numerous independent media sources corroborating the charge that the White House outed Valerie Plame (NBC, Wash. Post, Time, Novak...), and we've got a ball game.
The Post has a source or sources inside the White House not only backing up the claim that the WH did this, but providing details as to how and why. NBC, Time and Novak all directly charge that WH officials leaked the info to them. Despite Novak's backtracking of late, I think his latest stance is that the leak was not "intentional". Well, if you "unintentionally" commit a felony in the cause of smearing a political enemy, that only further demonstrates a callous disregard for and ignorance of the law. I don't think it makes you look particularly innocent, if that's what Novak's trying to do.
