Poll question: Is the dehumanization of the New Orleans victims by the media working? |
|
will this tragedy negatively affect Bush's approval numbers or is most of America now desensitized to the tragedy due to the blatant tactics of the media?

One of the cable channels had a psychiatrist on yesterday, who did a pretty good job of explaining some of the tragic dynamics that are in play in the flooded areas. And so if a person has an open mind, they will be able to find the truth. If they are predisposed to hate, they can watch Fox -- although I read that one of the Fox folks was actually sympathetic to the situation faced by the "looters" yesterday.

I keep hearing, "the deplorable conditions the evacuees are being forced to endure."
Desperate people do desperate things; I don't think any of us can be sure what we would do in a catastrophic situation. (I'm as "law abiding" as a person can be under normal circumstances, but have no idea how I would be reacting if in N.O. right now0

I can say it works on freepers and yeah, they're people too.
