..that the blame will rest squarely on the shoulders of a few local officials and the department heads? That all of our 'national' elected officials are not to be challenged for remaining silent on this? That bush can ignore it all for days and just because he may come and express some displeasure at how it's being handled in the future, he's off the hook? Can he do that after cutting the funding, showing he'd rather eff around than help, and already giving a half-assed effort days late?
Please please please tell me we haven't lost our sights this badly that the president will be allowed to feign leadership this late into the situation. He just doesn't have the right - people must be held responsible and it must start from the top!
I want to see someone attempt to claim states rights. Just try. States rights mean jack shit when states try to pass laws for gay rights and medical marijuana use (sans alaska, really), but you can bet some asshole will try to pawn all of this off on the state.
