Pat Buchanan does it again....what a news nose! |
|
He came back a moment later to a comment dropped by ex CIA guy Baer...the point that someone from NSC might be a leaker.
Press is trying to get along to the next item, Pat comes back like a bloodhound.
I gotta salute Buchanan. Smart guy.

1. Did you notice the reference to Libby and Cheney then to the president? |
|
There was the first reference to Bush being involved in this act of treason.

2. B&P have done a great job on this story all week |
|
They were also one of the better shows back in July when it seemed that the Niger document story would take off. Buchanan is, I believe, honestly offended by the lies that these folks have told. He also has that sense of loyalty to the office of the Presidency. Unfortunately, however, they keep getting pulled back into silly scandal coverage. Witness the excessive coverage today on Rush & Arnold. Nevertheless, it is usually worth tuning in just to see what they're talking about.

8. It's not just one person; it's a conspiracy. |
|
Novak's source is just the tip of the iceberg. He said TWO administration officials and the WP said 6 six reporters were contacted. Then there is Rove continuing to try to float the story AFTER the Novak article.

13. Agreed, but the Wilson affair is just part of the conspiracy. |
|
It includes the White House Iraq Group, which includes people from Bush's staff, Cheney's staff and Rice's staff. The WHIG was formed and run by Andy Card, White House Chief of Staff, who reports only to Bush. Card may have intentionally kept Bush uninformed about the actual criminal activity, but the criminal conspiracy goes to the top.

4. As much as I detest him, you are correct |
|
He was an ink-stained wretch for the old St. Louis Globe-Democrat back around 30 years ago. I believe he went from that now-defunct right wing rag to the Nixon WH as a speechwriter. He's seen big news from both sides of the fence and has first hand experience in cover-ups.

When it came to court intrique and Washington infighting, Nixon was king.

6. I always kinda liked Buchanan |
|
Because he never really takes himself too seriously. He laughs at himself, and he will admit when he is wrong. He is the one right wing commentator that doesn't make me want to immedietely change the channel.

Unlike so many RW types, I at least think PB has integrity, and a genuine sense of moral outrage. He was the ONLY critic of Clinton's pecadillos who I actually believed when he said he was 'offended' by the President's behavior.

9. Pat's gotta see this as a vindication of sorts |
|
His time as a Nixonite put that bitter look on his face.
This has got to be sweet revenge for the paleo-conservatives.

Which isn't very often, I must say. But sometimes he can nail them where it counts. I always believed the Lord put us all here for something or other. He may be crazy, but he ain't stupid :-) Long as he leaves us alone. But shit, nobody ever reached the low we got coming from the whitehouse with the toxic texan. Not Poppy, not even old Ronnie. They were a cake walk compared to the evil doers of bushco.

He's a conservative who hasn't modified his views to kiss the ass of whoever's currently in charge of the GOP. I hate it how he's forced to suck up to Bush sometimes on Buchanan and Press to fulfill the role of the right-wing guy.
Do any of you watch the McClaughlin group? It's the only show that clearly delineates the difference between hypocritical, imperialist neoconservatives and Pat Buchanan.
