What is with Aaron Brown on CNN?
I've been watching CNN the past couple nights, and he has just been on a friggin' roll. He is so fuckin' pissed, he can hardly contain himself. What was he like BK?

1. He has his moments where he can appear lucid, but I am not sure
I fully trust that one.

9. Brown is a man whose fundamental decency is easily side-tracked by...

his ambition and his class background. But under extremes that decency
pops out of him, almost in spite of himself. And he has a temper too, which
he can't hide when something gets to him.

That's my take on Brown.

2. Phlegmatic...this is a change for the beter. He is disgusted w/*
Wonder why? The press in NOLA has, by and large, become radicalized.

This will create a bunch of malcontents at CM (corporate media) which is good for everybody!!!

13. And don't forget Soledad O'Brian...
Our "spunky" Soledad went after Baghdad Brown this morning with a vengeance...I was sooooo fucking proud of her, and believe me - I NEVER thought I'd ever say this about her, but...I just did!!!

5. Was just going to post that....each talking head that starts...
spinning and excuses brings annoyed breaths and Aaron looks plain irritated. I've emailed him twice tonight thanking him for reporting the truth, and enouraged him to have the courage to keep it up...we may have turned the corner. Too bad it took thousands and thousands of deaths and a national embarrassment to finally show that the emperor has no clothes.

6. He really is irate. Seems like at least few of these guys are waking up.
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 10:50 PM by ocelot
Brown, up until this week (at least for the last couple of years or so) has been a rather self-absorbed guy who seems really impressed with his own sensitivity and insightfulness. Apart from a few times when he went off-script (for example, he had a wonderful hissy-fit when Hastert refused to extend the time for investigation by the 9/11 Commission), he's been a pretty unquestioning 'ho like the rest of them.

8. Aaron Brown is CNN's best
and that fact is lost in the general rage against media. He's quieter that many buy his analysis is good, his humour dry, he is almost Canadian in his outlook.

10. my husband likes him too
because he's an old coast guardsman... he said that right before Katrina hit last week. Seems like months ago. He really does seem sincere.

11. Randi Rhodes lurves him... I like him, most of the time...
He's a very thoughtful reporter, and asks very good questions...

I wish I could see him.

12. He was uneven, often pretty good, at times an enabler
but he always had it in him to be excellent because he is very smart when he lets himself go.

15. Miles O'Brien
has promised a politician he was interviewing that the causes of this disaster would be "a story we WILL be covering". Miles, too, has been kicking ass.

The decency threshold has been broached. I think this means that we, as a country, may be on the verge of deciding that we will sink no lower. We will not completely surrender our humanity to the corporatists.

16. His show last night was bad, but tonight he turned it around

He hammered home some good points tonight.

I judged him too early last night when I was mad at him.

17. Aaron was passed over as top CNN anchor for Wolf Blitzer.
Blitzer became top dog with 9/ll. Blitzer is a neo-con. Brown is not.
